Is it just me or does this appear suspicious to you, too?
It appears to me that this burqua clad woman may not be a woman at all. My suspicions are based on shoulder shape and hidden hands. Burquas should be outlawed until the USofA leaves Iraq to the Iraqis. How can our Soldiers know for sure that the person beneath the burqua is truly a woman and is not wearing a "bomb vest?" To me the child appears to be "crying" on cue and not all that much distraught.

Dream Act Amnesty Bill (attached to the Defense Bill)
Once again, I'm spending more time at the computer than I planned. Why? To send this letter to my Senators and others who are on my "list."
Dear Senator:
I am shocked to see your name on NumbersUSA's list of Senators who are declining to pledge to vote NO on the DREAM Act Amnesty. (http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/dreamactnovotes.html)
The USofA, We the People, do not need another "fraudulent foreigner" bill. We just need the laws you and your previous Federally elected officials have already passed to be upheld.
This "immigration" talk is incorrect. Immigrants are people who come to the USofA through lawful and legal channels.
The Illegal Aliens or Fraudulent Foreigners who come to the USofA without benefit of any legal paperwork do not deserve or require any benefits which in effect say to them that they "really didn't mean to break the law, because if the USofA didn't have that law, they wouldn't have 'broken' it."
If you want to pass an "Illegal Alien Reform Act" then use the same form as Mexico uses for people who wish to relocate their citizenship to Mexico.
Otherwise, Build The Fence! Pardon and Release Ramos and Compean! Deport Illegal Aliens!
Do not be cowed by the "it's not their fault" and the "but these people are hard workers" and the "the US was founded by immigrants" and the "it's the US's duty as a compassionate Country" and all the other unreasonable and irrational arguments directed at feelings instead of facts.
The facts are that Illegal Aliens are Fraudulent Foreigners and do not have any right to live in the USofA because they failed to follow the regulations for lawful entry. They are not the victims here. The USofA is the victim and they are the perpetrators.
Senator, please vote NO this week and next week on three measures that are being considered for the Defense Authorization bill or for a later bill this fall.
Vote NO on Amendment 2237 that would attach the Dream Act Amnesty.
Vote NO on any measure to increase H-1B visas and permanent greencards for foreign workers to take jobs from skilled American workers and students.
Vote NO on any attempt to increase H-2B visas for seasonal foreign workers to take jobs from America's most vulnerable workers.
As you know, the Defense bill is not an appropriation bill. Thus, if your opposition to including an amnesty in the bill delays passage of it, you will not be slowing down funding for our men and women in uniform.

Giuliani has it wrong!
According to the AJC online:
Excuse me? The Misdemeanor doesn't just "end" with the crossing of the border. The illegal alien (he's not an immigrant, he's a foreigner with no papers documenting lawful entry into any Country) also has to impersonate someone who has a valid Social Security Number in order to work, so, he steals someone else's or makes one up. He needs a vehicle, so if he doesn't have a "valid" (such as they are, since no background checks are completed in Mexico as they don't have the equipment to do so and have no intent to purchase same) Mexican driver's license (which means he knows nothing of USofA Transportation Laws), he has to obtain a US State driver's license (in most States) by impersonating a citizen which he discards after obtaining a vehicle so that he won't be arrested for using a fake ID. (He steals someone else's identity.) Maybe he pays some US Citizen who has befriended him to purchase the vehicle for him. And he is supposed to register the car and obtain auto insurance. He may steal a license plate or he may again impersonate a citizen and obtain a real license plate by forgery or have a friend get the tag for him. He usually does not purchase any vehicle insurance coverage -- if you doubt, check the reasons so many illegal aliens are ticketed by the Sheriff's office in your County.
The "cost" of illegal aliens in the USofA includes the use of infrastructure without paying taxes. Illegal aliens are stealing from the USofA. The cost of illegal foreigners in the USofA includes County and City school systems providing education for illegal alien children. ALL children are to have a Social Security Number to be enrolled in school, yet there are very few schools in this Country who follow the law and refuse to admit children who have no Social Security Number. In some areas, the children are given a "temporary identification number" similar to a Social Security Number which follows them throughout their school years and which I have seen, first hand, used by an illegal alien as a "Social Security Number" in order to obtain Social Services. These children are now both victims and perpetrators in collusion with their parent(s) and the school systems in perpetuating a FRAUD and costing the community thousands of dollars in illegally obtaining an education as if they were "entitled" to the same resources as any US Citizen (which they're not because they're foreigners with no legitimate reason for being in the United States of America).
And that is the bottom line. YES, illegal aliens are NOT immigrants. They are illegal foreigners with no legitimate reason for being in the United States. They have no legal right to use up space in the USofA that rightfully belongs to US Citizens.
When the USofA treats ALL it's Citizens equally, when there are no "ghettos" and no "gangs" to replace the family unit, when there are no under-educated US Citizens, when unemployed Citizens can obtain training and work, when employers pay US Citizens a "fair wage" and housing, food, and transportation costs do not use up over 75% of that income, when the United States of America has no one living under the poverty level, THEN and only then, can we accept more legal immigrants into this Country.
A non-US Citizen has no implied rights when he or she enters the USofA illegally. IN fact, by entering the USofA illegally, the non-US Citizen does not fall under the jurisdiction of any laws as they apply to US Citizens. Judges and the ACLU need a reality check. If Osama Bin Laden illegally entered the USofA, would the ACLU and some judges allow him all the rights of a US Citizen? The correct answer here is: NO. And that's also the correct answer for the 12 to 21 Million (or more) foreigners who have illegally entered and are living in the United States of America at the present time.
Reality Check time. Round them up and export them back to their home Countries. They have no right to any kind of "hearing" (fair or otherwise) because they do not belong here.

Al Qaeda Issues Fatwa for Cartoonist

Hmmmm, what's old Abu going to say when he sees how many bloggers have spread this story and the cartoon all over the world via the Internet (invented by some guy named Albert Gore, Jr. -- the Internet, not Abu or the cartoon).
I'm not saying this is a photo of Abu Omar of Baghdad, but it may have some similarities.

The head of an al Qaeda-led group in Iraq has offered a $100,000 reward for the killing of a Swedish cartoonist for his drawing of Islam's Prophet Mohammad and threatened to attack major Swedish companies.
Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, leader of the self-styled Islamic State in Iraq, also offered $50,000 to anyone who killed the editor of the newspaper that published the drawing by Lars Vilks depicting the head of the Prophet on the body of a dog.

Letter to Senator Jack Reed
Senator Reed:
You just gave the "Democrat" response to President Bush's televised statement on Iraq. You claim you speak for us. Where did you get your information about what we think? Who decided for you what we want or what we think is best for the United States?
I am a voter. I am not aligned (yet) with any party. Sometimes I vote Democrat and sometimes Republican. We have a Democrat Sole Commissioner in my County in Georgia. I voted for him and I support him. I voted for Bill Clinton. I'm not just some backcountry uneducated old woman.
And you sir, cannot speak for me. You have listened to too many negative voices in the Democrat Party, in the Media and in Hollywood. These voices do not represent "we the people of the United States." We are not numbers in a poll. We want the War in Iraq to end, but end victoriously. We want our military to return home, not like the way the Vietnam Veterans were received. We want the military brought home to march down Broadway in New York City with bands and confetti and cheers.
So, sir, how can you make sure this occurs? You are responsible, along with your Democrat and Republican members of Congress to support the legislation that brings our military home victorious winners in the War in Iraq and the War on Terror.
Speaking of the War on Terror: The way to win in the War on Terror is to Build The Fence on our Southern Border with Mexico, to stop the building of the NAFTA highway, to deny access to US roads and highways to drivers who only have a Mexican driver's license or have no valid driver's license, and to deport all Illegal Aliens immediately. It will not cost billions of dollars to deport the 12 to 21 Million Illegals. Every State gives traffic tickets and fines people who drive without a valid driver's license (and some States require proof of insurance). All it takes is the arrest and immediate deportation of those men and women who have no valid driver's license. They can be deported along with their families if the adults have no valid license. The children must go with their parent(s) and can return to the US when they are old enough to decide which citizenship they desire. There is no reason to continue to keep "anchor babies" in the US when their parent(s) are sent back "home."
You say you want to end the War in Iraq? You can start by ending the Invasion of the United States by Illegal Aliens.
If the Democrats in Congress will Build The Fence on our Southern Border with Mexico, to stop the building of the NAFTA highway, deny access to US roads and highways to drivers who only have a Mexican driver's license or have no valid driver's license, and deport all Illegal Aliens immediately, not only will our Country be safer, but voters will unanimously vote Democrat in November 2008. Something more important on my mind
I just completed a canoe trip with six other women in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Ely, Minnesota. More on that later, but for now, something more urgent is on my mind.
We are United States Americans; citizens of a Sovereign Country. We have more of the world's wealth than perhaps we 'deserve' but I say "We Earned It." And I believe that you know what I just wrote (We Earned It) is true.
How did we earn it? We refused to become stagnated by any political or religious or lack thereof system. Democracy is a "work in progress" and not an "end to itself" (would someone explain that in American English to the Progressive and Liberal Democrats??) The United States grew into what she is today. Some of the growth we currently have seems questionable (maybe like a cancer?), yet as a Nation we continue to be Sovereign (unless the Illegal Aliens are given amnesty and unless the North American Union becomes a reality) and we continue to be a Nation of laws and a Nation which cares about others.
How did we earn it? We refused to accept any leadership which would carry us backwards intellectually, educationally, philosophically, or philanthropically. We rejected the idea of a "King/Queen" or a "Supreme Leader" or a "Caliphate" or a "god-like leader." We elect our officials. (Now, to be elected, many if not most elected or appointed officials end up compromising themselves for money because it costs a lot to get elected or be appointed in the Representative Democracy of the USofA. I'm saddened that this is true. It is a "fact" of life, however. What saddens me more is watching Congress vote themselves pay raises every year, pay for life, a non-SSA retirement system, etc. that puts them out of touch with the voting electorate.)
However, we have earned our status in the World and on the Earth and we should not be expected by anyone -- either a poorer populace in another Country or a liberal Congressperson -- to agree to share our wealth. Especially to share our wealth without any accountability. We have to put up with Congressional spending without accountability and that's about all the voters can tolerate. In fact, it's more than most of us can tolerate. We don't like seeing US dollars spent on people or in Countries without any limits or proof that the money is being spent as directed.
Are we tired of the War on Terror? Are we tired of the War in Iraq? Are we tired of the War in Afghanistan?
Yes, but not nearly as tired as we are of elected officials taking advantage of their office to line their pockets, to hide their illegal or extralegal activities, to lie, to cheat, to steal for their own benefit. And then to turn on Legal Citizens of the United States and try to manipulate us to their agendas.
The Democrats cannot hide the truth about Norman Hsu. There is no way to "murder him off" in a Democrat fashion. The guilty parties have no where to hide.
We have earned our wealth and we want a complete and truthful explanation from the Democrats about Norman Hsu's donations to them. All Four Million plus.

Did Someone Forget a Law?
Sent this email to President Bush and Senators Spector, Cornyn, McCain, Warner, Kyl, Hutchison, Alexander, Graham, Martinez, McConnell, Burr, Brownback, and Lott asking them the same question.
President Bush:
Only 17.9 of the 854 miles of fencing called for in the Secure Fence Act have been completed as of August 10, 2007.
The law stipulates a double layer fence but the Administration (that's you, sir) has built just one-layer fencing.
Of the total 854 miles mandated by the Secure Fence Act, the law stipulates that 392 miles be completed from California to Arizona by May 31, 2008 and an
additional 30 miles be completed near Laredo, Texas, by December 31, 2008.

Who Killed Princess Diana? I know!
I'll tell you what happened.
France's Universal Health Care killed Princess Diana. Princess Diana couldn't be placed in the ambulance and taken to the nearest hospital as they would have been able to do had the accident occurred in the USofA.
In the USofA, the jaws of life would have been used, if needed, to remove her from the car, she would have been placed on a stretcher and put in an ambulance and been taken to the nearest trauma hospital.
And she would be alive today.
France's Universal Health Care System is guilty of the death of Princess Diana. You heard it here first and of course none of the investigators will admit to it because it's so obvious even I could figure it out.

The Media Assault on the Second Amendment
It starts so innocently. First, one liberty, one right is taken away. Then another. Then another. And before you know it, all your hard fought and won Bill of Rights is abrogated.

My Thoughts on Three Topics
If you agree that there's a problem with communication between the President and the rest of the USofA, raise your hand. Well, that's every US Citizen and green-card holder. All the others will need the question translated into Spanish. But their vote doesn't count (unless the Democrats are counting).
First topic: Something that really makes me sick to my stomach is reading on-line responses to various news articles posted by readers. It appears that everyone thinks he has the right to disparage and disrespect our President. The ridicule and the language used is contemptuous. Why do people think they have the right to call the President 4-letter words? Not only do they dishonor and insult the Office of the Presidency, they appear to be rude and insolent. No wonder other cultures look at ours and say "we don't want any."
Second topic: It appears that President Bush has not been forthright about his agenda. It appears that he is orchestrating the North American Union without the knowledge and approval of US Citizens. NAFTA, "the Highway," and now the SSP summit in Canada. It's going to be a Global One World Village destined to remove the rights and privileges in the Constitution and Bill of Rights from US Citizens. It's an insidious plan that will not just take us back to 1776, but back to the Dark Ages.
Third topic: Universal Health Care. As you know, if you've read my blog, I am totally against such a beast. Because it will be a beast to deal with. For argument's sake, let's say we have Universal Health Care -- some smaller County Hospitals will close and will become clinics without benefit of various medical labs, like the MRI, C-T scan, or the ability to do anything more than diagnose and write prescriptions. If the patient needs to be hospitalized, there may be a small unit with maybe half a dozen beds where the patient will wait until a bed becomes open in one of the larger hospitals in a nearby (hopefully) larger city. So you go have blood work done at the clinic after your stroke and you need an MRI and possibly an operation. But the MRI machine that was at your small County Hospital before Universal Health Care is no longer in use and there is no one trained to use it. So you're placed on a waiting list for your MRI at the "big" Hospital. The problem is, you're not the only one waiting for the MRI. The big Hospital serves 24 Counties and the waiting list is long. You've had a stroke. You need surgery but can't have surgery until the MRI is completed. You don't have time to wait months for your turn at the MRI. Your life is at stake!
What do you do? WELL, if you had lived in Canada before the USofA went "Universal Health Care," you would have driven across the border and gone to any US Hospital in just about any County or Town or City. The ER would have admitted you, taken any insurance information you had, gotten you into the MRI within a short time and you'd have gone directly into surgery, had the blood clot removed and whatever other medical needs you had and within 24 to 36 hours you'd be laying in your hospital room bed, thankful that at least the USofA had AVAILABLE Health Care. See, that's is the difference. You can have "Universal Health Care" where everyone has to wait in line, OR, you can have "Available Health Care" where you walk into a Hospital Emergency Room (or are admitted by your personal physician) and your medical needs are taken care of nearly immediately. But you cannot have both. Who you vote for and how you vote may determine your fate and the fate of every US Citizen. (Not to mention the millions of illegal aliens who currently use the USofA with impunity.)
But the proponents of "Universal Health Care" don't explain that part to you. And not only that, Congress will not be a subscriber to the same "Universal Health Care" plan that everyone else is forced to use. That's right. Not only will they not draw Social Security, they will still have access to the best "available health care." It's the privilege of the elite class. You know, people like Sen. H R Clinton and Sen. B H Obama. They talk it, but they won't walk it. Ever. They keep their money and force you to share yours. Think about it.

Our beloved country is flipping out. The effects of The Age of Stupidity ushered in during the ‘60s and ‘70s are omnipresent. It is highly doubtful that there is a living member of the World War II generation who could have imagined that seventh-graders would one day be brought in shackles into an American courtroom for playfully swatting a girl's buttocks. It is also true that there is no member of that generation who could ever have imagined something as low-life as a “slap butt day” in an American middle school. But that is another matter.

It is not just in Iraq that the political left has an investment in failure. Domestically as well as internationally, the left has long had a vested interest in poverty and social malaise.
Progress in general seems to hold little interest for people who call themselves “progressives." What arouses them are denunciations of social failures and accusations of wrong-doing.

Only the most overzealous activist would support the notion that national borders have no meaning or that a country should let foreigners break their laws, trade in fraudulent documents and violate deportation orders with impunity.
It's bad enough that so many non-citizens freely break this country's duly enacted laws. But when they feel that they can break our laws openly and without consequence, they have to go. Or all respect for the law will go.

It is fine for Republicans to speak of tax cuts, which indisputably have contributed to record economic growth, but a parallel issue for Republicans in 2008 should be a focus on out-of-control spending. America's puritanical “waste not, want not” heritage might yet stir enough of us to oppose needless spending if tied to an appeal for more personal responsibility and accountability for one's life. Eliminating, or at least reducing, wasteful spending weakens the Democrats’ argument for tax increases. Even under Republican majority rule, including a Republican president, government has continued to grow. Only a break with that heretical Republicanism will restore credibility with voters who increasingly view the two parties as indistinguishable

Hillary Clinton talks of a $1 billion federal fund to help families likely to find themselves sitting on the curb outside their former houses (or, much likelier, moving into apartments or rental houses).
Emergency relief -- food, shelter, clothes -- is one thing. Protection, as a matter of policy, from bad decisions (e.g., borrowing without the means to repay) penalizes good decisions. It says to citizens, don't bother to plan, to save, to reason things out, to act with discretion and judgment, because if you do blow it through carelessness or irrationality, along the government rescue wagon will come, bells jingling and dollars flying through the air.

Rankled and Less Burdened By It
Very interesting about the post below. By defining what rankles me, I realize that I have been able to "let go" and feel less burdened. Should I have been burdened in the first place? That's open for discussion. But I'd say that if some person of my acquaintance manifests one of the rankling traits, then yes, I will be rankled. Avoiding some people is nearly impossible if I'm in the same circle of friends. I don't want to cut myself off from all the other people in that circle, so I cannot totally avoid the rankling person. If it's an e-group, of course the delete key becomes my best friend. If it's an e-stalker, creating a file for the offending emails or simply blocking the person's email are two options open to me.
If it's just one individual acquaintance, avoidance after confrontation (or without confrontation) is fairly easy. The gossip that flies from that individual will be ignored by true friends and used as fodder by someone trying to rankle me. But then, using that fodder proves that a heifer is a heifer and doesn't range far from her dung.
Dirty diaper litterers and litterers of other cast-offs, from beer containers to anything loose in the car will probably always be with us. Except in my County, if I get the person's Tag Number and turn it in, the owner of the Tag will receive a County Letter telling them they've been reported and if they're reported a second time, they'll be fined. Don't know how that program is working, but it's a good idea because it lets the person who sees the littering actually do something constructive to try to stop at least one person from littering. If that person even cares.
And maybe that's the bottom line. If you care about other people, you don't gossip. If you care for "Mother Earth" then you don't litter. If you think it doesn't matter what you do . . . you're wrong, but you're more likely to litter and to gossip.

Things that Rankle
Persistent Irritation. We all have them. Things, situations, personalities who grate like a fingernail across a blackboard. I got to thinking that I'd make a list of those things, situations and personalities so that I could quit allowing them to fester.
So those are a few of the things that rankle me. Do you have anything to add?
- First would be stalkers. I've had two in my life. One person passed away earlier this month. That means one down, one to go.
- Second would be poseurs. Poseurs can be people who act as if you're their friend so long as you can do something for them or buy them something. They act as if the very earth revolves around them and their tales of woe and gossip. If they're not draining you emotionally, they're complaining about everyone they know. And Poseurs seem to know what everyone else "should" or "ought" do. They want to give directions to everyone else and won't look into the mirror to see what they've done with their lives. Poseurs favorite words are "I, me, my, and mine."
- Third would be people who have no financial plan worked out so that they can accomplish what they say the want to do. What appears to be a small financial problem is in reality a huge financial disaster. This is the type who asks a friend for financial assistance so that the water (or other utility) won't be cut off, with promises to repay from the next paycheck, and then promptly forgets to repay. These people act as if they don't expect the same bills to come due every month. And their financial situation is the fault of their rent and utilities and car insurance and upkeep and all their financial responsibilities but never their own lack of planning.
- Fourth would be people who throw used disposable diapers anywhere they please. There is nothing as disgusting as seeing or smelling a fouled disposable diaper that wasn't wrapped and placed in a trashcan. I've seen them everywhere a person can go. It's totally gross. And not much grosses me out, but dirty disposable diapers do.
- Fifth, I will never understand why people can drink a six-pack while driving around or sitting in some secluded spot and then toss their empty bottles or cans out the car window or leave them in that secluded spot. First of all, drinking and driving is a game of Russian Roulette. You may not end up dead the first time, but your chances of screwing up your life and the lives of those in your car increase exponentially every time you mix drinking and driving. In other words, it's a stupid action that normally sane people engage in. If you're afraid of the police finding an open container in your car, maybe it's because you know what you're doing is against the law and ethically wrong. If you must drink, do not drive after drinking. Find a buddy who is willing to stay sober (drink nothing with alcohol in it) and drive you home. AND take those bottles and cans to a recycling station and drop them off there.
- Sixth, litterers. People who toss a candy wrapper, an empty cigarette pack, cigarette butts, bottle tops, ring-tops, bags and wrappers from fast food establishments, those plastic bags from stores, and generally anything not bolted down. You go to an area that you think is pristine and what do you find? Litter! You climb up a mountain thinking that people who have climbed there will pack out what they packed in and what do you find? Litter! It makes me want to run down the middle of the street, pulling my hair out of my head, and screaming my lungs out. That is how much litterers upset me.
- Seventh, people who steal. I totally detest people who steal from others. The thief has no excuse. This is the USofA. Anyone can grow up to be President. It doesn't take much to be successful here. Stay in school. Study hard. Be honest. Work hard. Earn the money for what you want. I get really rankled when I read about some thief taking something that doesn't belong to him. Thieves are thoughtless, callous, selfish individuals.
- Eighth, people who use illicit drugs. What is with people that they actually want to put poison in their bodies to get some kind of chemical "high?" It's more stupid than drinking and driving. It's insane. Meth and cocaine and heroin and even marijuana create havoc with a person's body. A person screws up his body for a momentary "high?" That's just plain insane. You want a high? Climb a mountain, kayak whitewater, rappel down a mountain. There are thousands of things that a person can be involved in which will give him a sense of accomplishment and a "natural high" that's priceless.
I'll tell you what I learned about smoking marijuana. This is something you won't hear from people trying to convince you to 'just try it once.' When you smoke marijuana, it creates a chemical at the ends of your brain synapses. This chemical turns into a sticky resin-like substance. The more often you smoke, the faster the substance grows until it covers the synapse. Later, when you try to use your brain, the messages that normally pass from one set of synapses to another either can't get through the resin-like substance or bounce off the substance and connect to an unrelated synapse. This in effect makes the marijuana smoker "goofy" or "act like a 17 year old in heat" or may be a cause of adult attention disorders. The brain of a person who has used marijuana extensively looks very similar to a child with "shaken baby syndrome."
So those are a few of the things that rankle me. Do you have anything to add?

Two weeks ago, as I was starting my sixth month of duty in Iraq, I was forced to return to the USA for surgery for an injury I sustained prior to my deployment. With luck, I'll return to Iraq to finish my tour.
I left Baghdad, and a war that has every indication that we are winning, to return to a demoralized country much like the one I returned to in 1971 after my tour in Vietnam. Maybe it's because I'll turn 60 years old in just four months, but I'm tired.
I'm tired of spineless politicians, both Democrat and Republican, who lack the courage, fortitude and character to see these difficult tasks through.
I'm tired of the hypocrisy of politicians who want to rewrite history when the going gets tough.
I'm tired of the disingenuous clamor from those that claim they 'Support the Troops' by wanting them to 'Cut and Run' before victory is achieved.
I'm tired of a mainstream media that can only focus on car bombs and casualty reports because they are too afraid to leave the safety of their hotels to report on the courage and success our brave men and women are having on the battlefield.
I'm tired that so many Americans think you can rebuild a dictatorship into a democracy overnight.
I'm tired that so many ignore the bravery of the Iraqi people to go to the voting booth and freely elect a Constitution and soon a permanent Parliament.
I'm tired of the so called 'Elite Left' that prolongs this war by giving aid and comfort to our enemy, just as they did during the Vietnam War.
I'm tired of antiwar protesters showing up at the funerals of our fallen soldiers, a family whose loved ones gave their life in a just and noble cause, only to be cruelly tormented on the funeral day by cowardly protesters is beyond shameful.
I'm tired that my generation, the Baby Boom -- Vietnam generation, who have such a weak backbone that they can't stomach seeing the difficult tasks through to victory.
I'm tired that some are more concerned about the treatment of captives than they are the slaughter and beheading of our citizens and allies.
I'm tired that when we find mass graves it is seldom reported by the press, but mistreat a prisoner and it is front-page news.
Mostly, I'm tired that the people of this great nation didn't learn from history that there is no substitute for victory.

Take Down the Bird Feeder
Author Unknown, this story is making the rounds in forwarded emails and is very timely. Maybe I'll email it to some Congressmen. Maybe you will too.
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…everywhere.
Then some of the birds turned mean: They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be…quite, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now lets see…our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands.
Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English; Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press “one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

I am a 62 year old retired woman who is willing to Volunteer to Build the Fence that Congress has already allocated millions of dollars to build. Where's the money? Where's the fence?
Recall the mandate of United States Citizens, if you will:
1- No North American Union
2- Secure the United States borders
3- No Amnesty for unlawful (law-breaking) immigrants
4- Build the Fence
5- Aggressive Deportation
6- No Benefits
7- No Work authorization to unlawful immigrants
8- English First before anyone is allowed to emigrate to the USofA
9- No Birthright Citizenship
Mr. President, Congress has approved the building of 843 miles of double fencing along the US border with Mexico. Only 14 miles of single fencing have been built. What kind of slap-in-the-face is this?
Mr. President, if you want to leave office with a legacy you can be proud of, it's time to get this fence building completed. There's money allocated to build it. You don't need 62-year old retired women volunteers. You know what the correct action is. So take it.
At this point in your Presidency, I am ashamed I voted for you. And I'm not sure I'll vote for another Republican for President if that person is going to follow in your footsteps and continue to sell the United States to foreign countries, piece by piece.
At the current time, only you can salvage the United States. How? By following through on the Mandate of the Citizens of the United States of America and Building That Fence along the Southern Border.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.
2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.
3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!

6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.
7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.

So using the LOWEST estimates, the annual cost OF ILLEGAL ALIENS (Unlawful Immigrants) is $338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR! So if deporting them costs between $206 and $230 BILLION DOLLARS, by deporting unlawful immigrants we'll still be ahead after the first year!!!

Letter sent to my Senators and Congressman
This Fox News article about the US House contemplating sending money to Mexico to aid them in stopping the drug trade between them and the USofA is . . . so much foolishness. The Best way to halt drugs coming in from Mexico is to Build A Fence and Stop the Drug Runners. The USofA has too many needs here at home for us to be "helping" the Country that is trying to undermine our entire way of life by sending their poor and uneducated citizens to the UsofA as illegal aliens (unlawful undocumented immigrants) to use up our resources as we educate them and their children, give them Medicaid, and give their Anchor Babies US Food Stamps. It has been verified that former Mexican President Vincente Fox had a picture book made especially for the less educated Mexican citizens explaining how to enter the USofA illegally/unlawfully. This “comic book” is available to Mexicans. Encouraging illegal unlawful immigration makes the Government of Mexico an accomplice in this crime against the USofA Government. And Vincente Fox’s “comic book” is not funny!
In this area of North Georgia, there are a lot of uneducated illegal undocumented Mexicans as well as undocumented Mexican Indians (Mayan and the like). These Mexicans cannot read or write Spanish and the Mexican Indians don’t speak Spanish as their first language. The illegal undocumented Mexicans drive while unlicensed, do not have auto insurance, and have a high rate of DUIs. Few towns in North Georgia actually demand jail time of Mexican’s with DUIs thereby giving them ample opportunity for vehicular manslaughter before they are removed from the general population and jail time is not guaranteed. Unlawful alien Mexicans with DUIs are merely fined, again and again. Every week there are at least two unlawful aliens with DUIs listed in the local weekly newspaper. The Sheriff’s department knows the men they arrest are unlawful aliens, but say that Homeland Security won’t come pick them up, so they just let the men go . . . every time they’re arrested for a DUI.
Does Mexico allow just anyone to enter their Country and siphon off their resources? Not for a minute. Mexico gave “Dog the Bounty Hunter” a lot of negative publicity when he located a criminal there and brought him to justice! There is a totally and completely unfair border practice between Mexico and the USofA and now the USofA wants to give Mexico a reward? NO!
NO, No, no. I agree with this statement made by www.grassfire.org: . . . the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America that President Bush agreed to on March 23, 2005, [that] President Bush has decided to integrate us -- political and economic integration with Mexico and Canada – he’s going to pursue that agenda whether he explains it to the American people fully or not.
Sir, this is wrong. This is the wrong direction for who the USofA is to take. It goes against everything the USofA was founded on. Our founding fathers would rise up from their graves if they could, take up arms, and fight again for the sovereignty and independence of the USofA. If we lose our independence, we will lose everything every soldier has fought for, from the Revolutionary War to the current conflagration. The USofA will be “undone” and this will be the end of our way of life.
Please do what you can to see that this bill is not passed. Please do not allow any ‘deals’ between Vincente Fox and any US President other than those that keep Mexicans and their drugs in Mexico to be honored. The USofA does not need to pay Mexico to keep their own laws. We only need to pay for a fence between the two countries to resolve the ‘drug runner’ problems. And I expect the cost of a real fence will be much less than the money the USofA would spend trying to pay off Mexican officials so that they honor their badges and enforce their own laws.

Shakedown Hike Lessons
Hiked about 78 miles of the Appalachian Trail in Southwest Virginia in July and learned a lot from my friend who helped me understand that "lighter and lighter" is "better and better."
I learned that there's a lot of 'stuff' even if you're carrying only 20-25 pounds including food and 48 ounces of water that you don't need.
I haven't weighed it all yet, but here's 'my' list.
Pamola Pack (24 oz will be trimmed)
Rosaleen's Orange Pack Cover (weight unknown, silnylon)
NO water proof line liner, but carrying at least one 'extra' garbage bag
WM Caribou 30/35* sleeping bag (18 oz)

Journalism's Lost Ethics
In 1922, editors of all of the major newspapers in the country met in Washington D.C. to establish a universal code of ethics. These executives owed their livelihood to the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America which prohibits Congress from making any law that would abridge the freedom of speech or of the press. Even so, they didn’t see freedom of the press — the freedom of their own industry — as an absolute right. At the time, people still had the common sense to know individual rights, of people and organizations, are relative to the rights of others, have limits, and come with obligations. They also were convinced that the responsibility for regulation of their industry (the limiting of their freedom, so to speak) was their own responsibility, and not primarily of the government. They wanted self-regulation, not government interference, to be the standard bearer for journalistic ethics. With this common goal, they established the “Canons of Journalism” — rules for sincerity, truthfulness, accuracy, impartiality, fair play and decency.
Fifty years later, with the genesis of new media, including tabloid journalism, members of the American Association of Newspaper Editors revised the Canons of Journalism written by their predecessors and renamed it a “Statement of Principles.” Much of the content in the new document reflects the original canons of 1922, but there are three glaring changes which, I believe, reflect the beginning of the environment of moral anarchy in which the media now swim:
1) The 1922 canon on “Fair Play” declared, “A newspaper should not invade private rights or feelings without sure warrant of public right as distinguished from public curiosity.”
• In the revised 1975 standards this entire sentence is removed (Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan?)
2) The 1922 canon on “Sincerity, Truthfulness, & Accuracy” stated, “Headlines should be fully warranted by the contents of the articles which they surmount.”
• No standard for headlines is given in the 1975 version, and the standard of “sincerity” is omitted completely.
3) The 1922 canon on “Decency” said, “A newspaper cannot escape conviction of insincerity if while professing high moral purpose it supplies incentives to base conduct, such as are to be found in details of crime and vice, publication of which is not demonstrably for the general good...” • In the 1975 articles, there is no mention of a standard for “decency.”
With the collapse of philosophical foundations, these changes of 1975 should not surprise us. Nor should the changes we see today and the ones we may see in the near future, to the point of a complete abolition of journalistic and media ethics. If as a society we reject our natural sense of right and wrong, we end up all speaking different languages and abandoning the possibility of saying anything is objectively better than anything else.
But we can alter this negative trend. I believe a look back at the long tradition of Western ethics, in particular, the respect for the dignity of the human person and the responsibility of government, industry, and the individual to seek the “common good” of society are the pillars for reestablishing a universal ethical code for the media, and in particular for the world of news.

Appalachian Trail Shake Down Hike
I'm in Damascus, VA, where the Library lets hikers get online for an hour at a time and for free. I've learned a lot about lightening the load on my back. I've also purchased some new, lighter equipment.
But that's not all. I also know what exercises I need to work on to get into shape for a Thru Hike next year and how many "personal" pounds I hope to lose between now and then.
I'm toying with starting somewhere North of Georgia, hiking to Katahdin and then hiking South from where ever I start. Traditionally it's a No-Bo (NorthBound from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Katahdin in Baxter State Park in Maine) or a So-Bo (just the opposite). Never, since I've been retired, have I been one for "tradition." I was rarely one for traditions when I was employed. Truth be told.
Suggestions of where I should start my Thru Hike?

Not Guest Worker! What about Tourist Visa?
The latest letter sent to Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia. Up for re-election in 2008, too.

The "skilled worker" immigrant issue is a smoke screen -- I think you reduced that to 200,000?
What about having everyone who wants to enter the USofA, unless as described below, be able to obtain a 3-month TOURIST VISA in exchange for a mouth swab for DNA, finger-prints, eye-print, and photo? (All placed in the FBI and CIA data base to be compared with criminals arrested for anything from misdemeanor to murder to working illegally as a tourist.
The 3-month VISA must be renewed and the person and his/her family can VISIT the USofA as Tourists only. No employment, No Medicaid, No Anchor Babies.
The SECOND set of Tourist Visas will be a "Tourist to Guest Worker Visa," also a 3-month Visa. What this is entails is the same swabbing, fingerprinting (of all household members), photographing, but allows the Tourist to Guest Worker to locate employment and an employer who will vouch for him. The employer MUST provide a) wages equal to or greater than minimum wage; b) access to health insurance for the entire family; and c) $500 for the Guest to Worker adult(s), $250 for a spouse who will not be employed during the Guest to Worker stay in the USofA, and $250 for each child in the household. The Head of Household MUST VERIFY legal marriage with a certified copy of a marriage certificate (translated into English). The income from the employer will be placed in a Federal Account and rationed to the 50 States at the end of each fiscal year based on the number of Guest to Worker Visa holders employed. The States will be mandated to use it to provide Medicaid and CHIPs in their State.
This SECOND group will be eligible for Medicaid for pregnant spouse and Medicaid for children who qualify or for the Children's HealthCare Initiative (WHICH NEEDS FULL FUNDING! Yes, I'm yelling.)
So we've got a huge data base of DNA, fingerprints, photos. Background checks can be completed on all Tourist Visa and Tourist to Guest Worker Visa.
What does the "Immigrant" have to do? He must report where and who he stays with while he's here on his 3 month Tourist Visa, every 30 days. (Computers can be set up in Libraries and various State and Federal Agencies for this "self reporting."
Penalities? Failure to provide information (even "no change") every 30 days will result in immediate deportation and subsequent barring from entry back into the USofA. A Tourist who is discovered employed in the USofA or a woman who has a baby while in the USofA will forfeit their Tourist Visa and the baby will NOT become an Anchor Baby, but will have the same citizenship as the Mother.
How to check? At first, it may be difficult as programmers enter data into the data base. But once the DNA and fingerprints AND TOURIST ID NUMBER are in the Data Base, anyone from Traffic Policeman to Potential Employer (through employment service) can access the Data Base to verify status. A Tourist will be reported immediately with current address, etc. A Tourist to Worker can be verified as employable.
Yes, the idea needs some work. But what about hashing it out with other Senators?

Another open letter to the Senate of the USofA
Senator:
1. I understand that Senate leaders are working on a back-room deal that will bring the Amnesty bill back for a vote in exchange for consideration on certain amendments.
2. I oppose this "Amendments for Amnesty" deal.
3. If you support this deal, then you will forever be listed as a supporter of amnesty.
4. The American people have spoken in opposition to this amnesty bill. I urge you to oppose this deal and the bill.
5. Build the Fence now! Start on it today and without delay. Fund it completely and include video monitoring.
6. Show that you are serious about representing the American Public by building the fence, supporting the Immigration Bill of 1986 and funding it, and obtaining a pardon for Border Agents Ramos and Compean!
7. We the People of the United States of America want unlawful "breaking, entering and looting" by illegal alien-immigrants stopped immediately. Send unlawful, undocumented immigrants back to their homeland. Send those who have overstayed their VISAs back to their homeland. Stop the looting of USofA resources by non-US Citizens and non-"green card" lawful immigrants.
8. Crime will decrease once the 12 to 21 Million undocuemted, unlawful immigrants are returned to where they came from. Drug smuggling into the USofA will decrease once the 12 to 21 Million unlawful, illegal, undocumented immigrants are returned to where they came from.
9. We the People of the United States of America have forebears who stayed on Ellis Island for 3 or more months before they were allowed to enter the USofA. Those who have unlawfully entered the USofA have not been screened for diseases or had a background check. They have broken into Casa USofA and are slowing stealing her resources (30% of HUD housing goes to undocumented alien-immigrants, illegals deplete the Hill-Burton Funds at hospitals to the detriment of US Citizens) and siphoning off her money (the #! import to Mexico is US Dollars).
10. The USofA is a sovereign nation. We the People of the United States of America do not want to be part of a "North American Union." We wish to remain free and independent. My forebears did not fight againts the British Crown in 1776 to be handed over to Mexico in 2007. No super-highway through the USofA.
11. You want a "plan?" Then give ALL undocumented unlawful immigrants "Tourist Visas" at the Borders in exchange for swabs for DNA, fingerprints, and photos, all of which will go into a Nationwide Data Base. Pass an amendment which states that babies born in the USofA to tourists (Tourist Visa current or expired) are not USofA Citizens but are citizens of the Country listed on their mother's Visa. And no person in the USofA on a Tourist Visa can legally work in the USofA. They'll have to submit paperwork for a "green card" if they wish to seek employment in the USofA. Spot checks on employers can be conducted randomly and across the USofA. Set up penalties for both "Tourist" and employer.

Moochers
What or who makes your hair on the back of your neck rise like a dog ready for battle? What or who makes your eyes narrow, as if ready for conflict?
Hostility: Who, What, When, Where?
Been thinking of this due to a few situations familiar to me. And the situations have a lot in common.
FIRST: Unlawful immigration moochers from Mexico and other parts of the earth. They are looters who have unlawfully broken into Casa USofA and set up a squatter's rights sub-culture. They are defended by leftist-Marxists everywhere on earth. Right now, this includes support coming from the White House! They want to split Casa USofA; their motto "divide and conquer." And there are some people who would accommodate them, giving them Mexifornia, Mexizonia, New Meximexico and Mexas.
The Bush-Kennedy immigration amnesty bill is failing in the Senate. Now, "We the People" need to come up with a workable proposal. Many have been aired on talk-radio and on various television news shows. They all start with "ENFORCE THE EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS" and "BUILD THE FENCE FIRST." Why are Bush, Kennedy and a lot of Senators and Representatives playing footsie with unlawful immigrants? It's not for a few "grape and lettuce picker migrant workers" or "landscape migrants." Bush and Kennedy and a number of Congresspeople who were elected by USofAmerica Citizens have a "North American Union Agenda" to open up all borders to anyone who wants to enter the USofA. Terrorists included. Illegal Drug Runners included.
Did you hear or read how many USofA resources are being siphoned away from USofA Citizens to UNLAWFUL alien-immigrants? It's unconscionable. It's a travesty of justice. It is totally UN-American -- UN-USofA-American!
Congress must mandate that law enforcement in any USofA State arrest all unlawful, undocumented alien-immigrants in their area and turn them over to Homeland Security who will remove from the USofA the unlawful, undocumented alien-immigrant and return them, along with all family members here unlawfully and all children, whether "anchor-baby" or not, up to age 21, to their home Country within 10 days of being turned over to Homeland Security. The unlawful alien-immigrants will be swabbed, photographed, finger-printed and given a "you (list everyone in household, gender, date of birth) may apply for US Citizenship through your Country of origin when your youngest anchor baby is age 21 (with future date listed)." This lamminated card will spead up the legal immigration process when presented for Legal Immigration as the aforesaid fingerprints and DNA from the swabs can be run through NCIS and other governmental systems to determine if the person or persons applying for US Citizenship have committed any crimes which would deny them entrance to the USofA.
Congress must mandate that Homeland Security work with Border Agents to remove all Southern Border Agents who are family members or close friends with known drug-runners or coyotes who cross the Southern USofA border (with drugs or with persons who have no valid passport). The Border Agents removed for familiarity with drug-lords or coyotes can be offered positions at our Northern Border or an Airport or Port at least 500 miles from our Southern border. Border Agents Compean and Ramos must be pardoned by Congress, reinstated to their jobs, paid lost wages and all Court costs through the Texas District Attorney's office. And Johnny Sutton must be mandated to write appologies to both Border Agents.
Congress must mandate that Homeland Security conduct huge sweeps of areas known to harbor unlawful/illegal alien-immigrants, not just Mexicans. These unlawful immigrants must be swabbed, photographed, finger-printed, and returned to their Country of origin. Their identifying information will be kept on file indefinitely and used by law-enforcement from any State on an as needed basis. For instance, there are areas near Atlanta, GA, where Asian gangs rule. There are other known areas of the USofA where Asian, South American, and other gangs have overpowered the local law enforcement agency and rule.
Congress must mandate that every USofA Citizen obtain a Valid PassPort by the year 2010.
SECOND: Moochers and looters of other people's kindness and generosity. Most of this type personality are Leftist-Marxists. (So far no one who fits this description is serving in the White House. But there's a one in three chance that one will be running in the 2008 Presidential election. Democrats have a choice among a Saul Alinski trained Marxist, a black-separatist, and an ambulance chaser.)
Being generous can be a curse at times.
Moochers take many forms, but I have noticed a trend:

Congress must mandate that law enforcement in any USofA State arrest all unlawful, undocumented alien-immigrants in their area and turn them over to Homeland Security who will remove from the USofA the unlawful, undocumented alien-immigrant and return them, along with all family members here unlawfully and all children, whether "anchor-baby" or not, up to age 21, to their home Country within 10 days of being turned over to Homeland Security. The unlawful alien-immigrants will be swabbed, photographed, finger-printed and given a "you (list everyone in household, gender, date of birth) may apply for US Citizenship through your Country of origin when your youngest anchor baby is age 21 (with future date listed)." This lamminated card will spead up the legal immigration process when presented for Legal Immigration as the aforesaid fingerprints and DNA from the swabs can be run through NCIS and other governmental systems to determine if the person or persons applying for US Citizenship have committed any crimes which would deny them entrance to the USofA.
Congress must mandate that Homeland Security work with Border Agents to remove all Southern Border Agents who are family members or close friends with known drug-runners or coyotes who cross the Southern USofA border (with drugs or with persons who have no valid passport). The Border Agents removed for familiarity with drug-lords or coyotes can be offered positions at our Northern Border or an Airport or Port at least 500 miles from our Southern border. Border Agents Compean and Ramos must be pardoned by Congress, reinstated to their jobs, paid lost wages and all Court costs through the Texas District Attorney's office. And Johnny Sutton must be mandated to write appologies to both Border Agents.
Congress must mandate that Homeland Security conduct huge sweeps of areas known to harbor unlawful/illegal alien-immigrants, not just Mexicans. These unlawful immigrants must be swabbed, photographed, finger-printed, and returned to their Country of origin. Their identifying information will be kept on file indefinitely and used by law-enforcement from any State on an as needed basis. For instance, there are areas near Atlanta, GA, where Asian gangs rule. There are other known areas of the USofA where Asian, South American, and other gangs have overpowered the local law enforcement agency and rule.
Congress must mandate that every USofA Citizen obtain a Valid PassPort by the year 2010.
SECOND: Moochers and looters of other people's kindness and generosity. Most of this type personality are Leftist-Marxists. (So far no one who fits this description is serving in the White House. But there's a one in three chance that one will be running in the 2008 Presidential election. Democrats have a choice among a Saul Alinski trained Marxist, a black-separatist, and an ambulance chaser.)
Being generous can be a curse at times.
Moochers take many forms, but I have noticed a trend:
- 1-Moochers play the "victim card" and turn on the tears if body language or verbal responses are not to their liking.
- 2- Moochers play on the generousity of others but never repay that generousity in-kind.
- 3- Moochers have a sad tale which always ends with their hands out waiting for a reward. What they fail to tell is how your financial help will further their ultimate agenda.
- 4- Moochers mooch off of other people's popularity by becoming "sudden friends" with them.
- 5- Moochers posture for a position at the top of the heap, even if it means elaborating and spreading gossip so that they can appear to be "the first to know and spread the (false) news."
- 6- Moochers feed off the lime-light. They are always "on stage" acting their part as "victim (moocher)." And if the lime-light drifts away from them, they'll act out however they have to, pulling no stops, to bring that lime-light back to them.
- 7-Moochers refuse to allow persons with greater talents dominate any discussion. Typical tactic of moochers is suddenly to bring up an unrelated topic in order to focus attention on themselves and their physical and/or mental disabilities.
- 8- Moochers are negative personalities.
- 9- Moochers drain energy from others, which is why they have no close friends, only distant acquaintances.
- 10- The most anoying trait: Moochers don't know when to shut up and go home.
THIRD: Stalkers annoy me no end. I am not afraid of them because the law is on my side. Let me quote from an email I received the other day:
Beware Dooms Days are coming,June,10,thru the 16th of June, roflomao
Needless to say, I'm reporting this to my local Sheriff's Office so that they can watch my house for any activity by this stalker. And, yes, I'll be taking other precautions available to me.
So, there you go. Three situations which raise the hair on the back of my neck.

Another Letter to a few Senators
Senator:
As I have written previously, I am very concerned about the current Immigration Bill being rushed through the approval process and the pressure placed on Republican and Democrat Senators to agree to it "in principle."
This current attempt at an Immigration Bill is not the answer to the unlawful immigrant problems of the USofA. And the Bill's supporters know this very well, which is why they have worked so hard to obtain your support of said bill.
First of all, the B-1 US Visa is for educated persons who will contribute to the general welfare of the USofA. This Visa would rarely if ever be used by the 12 to 21 Million unlawful immigrants currently in the USofA with pouring through our "open" borders every day. We can accept educated legal immigrants if we screen them to be sure they don't have a hidden agenda, such as plans to fly planes into tall buildings, bombing US Military facilities, bombing underwater train tunnels, or igniting airplane fuel in airport storage tanks. This "change" in the Immigration Bill was nothing but a smoke screen.
Secondly, how is Congress planning to fund the Immigration Bill presented to the Senate? Where will the money for more border patrol agents come from? Have you asked why the current USofA border laws, regulations and rules are not being rigorously enforced and why suddenly the supporters of the newest Immigration Bill are claiming that the new laws will be? How can we trust our own Government when current laws already on the books are ignored by the very people who are supposed to be enforcing them? Terrorists fly into our airports and whiz through Customs as if they were VIPs. Transfer trucks are driven across our border with Mexico and waved on by without checking the manifesto or the cargo.
IF the Federal Government is going to be enforcing any border regulations at all, why are Ramos and Compean still in jail? They were enforcing the law, but politics between Pres. George W Bush and former Pres. Vincente Fox were more important than enforcing the laws of this land!!!
Thirdly, if you want the USofA to exist as a sovereign nation, then anything which hinders that must be addressed and terminated immediately. Immigration reform must enhance national security, promote economic growth, and protect freedom and liberty. The Kennedy sponsored Immigration Bill falls short of those requirements. The downfall of Europe has been the European Union. There is declining patriotism in Europe. There is declining pride in nationality. The USofA does not and should not belong in a "Union of the Americas." The superhighway from Mexico through the USofA to Canada is a huge step in destroying the USofA. Democracy and individualism made this Country great and lawful immigration is a part of that greatness.
The style of unlawful immigration we currently have is not at all like the immigration into the USofA up to the closing of Ellis Island. The unlawful immigrants today are not screened at the border, their health is not checked, and for the most part, they have no jobs to go to in the USofA. The claim is that unlawful immigrants sneak into the USofA to enjoy the freedoms and liberties and "free" health care and education for their children which are offered here. This is dishonest at worst and misunderstood agenda at best. Why does Congress call it a "USofA freedom" to cause cities and towns to spend more of their legally obtained revenues to support a "sub-nation" of unlawful persons within the USofA? Why is over one-third of HUD housing allotments going to unlawful immigrants instead of 100% of HUD allotments going to US Citizens? Why are colleges giving grants and scholarships to unlawful immigrants and denying same to qualified US Citizen-students?
Something is vitally, dreadfully wrong in the USofA today: it is the parasitic draining of USofA resources, finances, and goodwill by a huge host of unlawful immigrants. This has to stop and it must stop now. The "good life" is being drained from the USofA by the very persons who say they enter unlawfully in order to obtain it.
Every year 1.4 million immigrants enter the USofA legally. There has been no talk of terminating legal immigration while the 12 to 21 million unlawful immigrants are "assimilated" into USofA culture over the next 12 to 21 years.
The farmers claim they need the migrants. They could pay better wages and include a benefits package and hire US Citizens who might know not to contaminate the fruit or vegetable they're picking with e. coli. Construction companies claim they need immigrant workers. Why don't they pay "an honest day's wage" and include a benefits package and hire US Citizens? Unlawful immigrants are hired to keep costs down and profits up. The bottom line is "money."
And, Senator, the bottom line in the current Immigrantion Bill is also Money. Who's getting it? Who's paying it? Who's benefiting the most from it?
Senator, Follow The Money! This Bill is being pushed on Congress and on the American Public too fast. And that, sir, causes me to wonder why.
As a Senator representing your District and the entire USofA Citizenry, it behooves you to find out why so that you do not continue the Federal Governments policy of chipping away at USofAmerica's freedoms.
When you were elected, you took that oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution. This is what you are ordained to guard and champion with your very life, if necessary. And if you cannot offer your life, it's time to step down from office and allow someone willing to sacrifice all to replace you.
