Proof that Mohammedans are TOOL (totally out of line)

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysia's Muslim men are suffering sleepless nights and cannot pray properly because their thoughts are distracted by a growing number of women who wear sexy clothes in public, a prominent cleric said.

Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the spiritual leader of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said he wanted to speak about the "emotional abuse" that men face because it is seldom discussed, the party reported on its Web site Wednesday.

"We always [hear about] the abuse of children and wives in households, which is easily perceived by the eye, but the emotional abuse of men cannot be seen," Nik Abdul Aziz said. "Our prayers become unfocused and our sleep is often disturbed."

Oh, poor poor baby. Let me help you. I know a nice lady who'd enjoy discussing a solution to your problems and it's not dressing women in cloth prophylactics, either. Lorena Bobbitt, take care of Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, please. And if she's busy, Nik old man, come over here and I'll do a "Lorena-Bobbitt" of your problem personally.

A Merry Atheistic to you, Hollywood

On December 7th, New Line Cinema will release a film called “The Golden Compass” based on Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy. The books are vehemently anti-Catholic and anti-God but the movie has been altered somewhat. The final result remains to be seen. I guess it will come as a sort of Christmas present from Hollywood.

Philip Pullman is an avowed atheist who wrote his novels in an effort to draw readers into an atheistic worldview. In the books, which have sold extremely well, the protagonists resist the evil power of the “Magisterium”, and it becomes increasingly clear as the reader moves through the trilogy that this “Magisterium” represents the Catholic Church and that the ultimate evil behind it is God Himself. The trilogy consists of Northern Lights (published in the US as The Golden Spyglass), The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass.

Nicole Kidman will star in the film. Kidman has stated: “I wouldn’t be able to do this film if I thought it were at all anti-Catholic” because “I was raised Catholic. The Catholic Church is part of my essence.” But one doesn’t really know whether thinking is part of Kidman's essence. It is quite possible she had never heard the term “Magisterium” before. In any case, the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has launched a two-month protest campaign calling for a boycott of the film.

Would Congress PLEASE Read This Post?

I have today written two letters to the President and some other members of the Administration including my Senators and Representative. Below are the two letters.

LETTER ONE: S-CHIP
As I have tried to inform you, from my experience working with S-CHIP in the State of Georgia, Congress has not spoken to people who have actually worked with the "working poor." I have and I give my advice freely.

Many of the parents of S-CHIP children do not expect the coverage to duplicate Medicaid. They expected the program to be much like one of the Employer Health Care Coverage Plans that most State Employees have. They expected to pay a monthly fee for their children, based on their income, and then a co-pay at the doctor's office, the pharmacy and the hospital. They are not looking for any kind of "national" or "universal" health care.

Parents who can afford health insurance through their employers usually do not have dental coverage for their children and would like to see S-CHIP offer Dental Coverage for children separate from the Health Care Coverage. They're willing to make a monthly payment for this coverage and pay a co-pay.

S-CHIP does not need to extend coverage for those "reportedly" uninsured children not currently covered. The majority of those children have parents who can obtain Family Health Care Coverage from their employers but who are waiting on the "dole" from the Federal Government because they refuse to budget or reduce their spending habits in order to pay for the Employer offered Health Insurance.

The Bottom Line with this entire situation is that the U.S. Citizen does not know how to live within his net income and expects the Federal Government to be his "Santa Claus" or "Sugar Daddy" and come to his rescue. The Federal Government has my permission not to continue to be an enabler of poor financial planning by families who have access to health insurance coverage through their employers.

Thank you for reading my email.

LETTER TWO: AMNESTY – specifically the Dream Act
As I have tried to inform you, from my experience working with documented (legal green card) immigrants and undocumented immigrants (illegal aliens) and the Medicaid Programs for Children and Pregnant Women in the State of Georgia, Congress has not spoken to people who have actually worked with these families. I have and I give my advice freely.

Nearly 100% of documented immigrants do not support the USofA giving Amnesty to any illegal aliens. Documented immigrants went through the long procedure to obtain green cards for themselves and their spouses and children. They worked for their green card status and they look down on those who enter the USofA without benefit of a green card.

They also believe that in many cases, employers who hire both legal and illegal aliens pay lower wages to the legal aliens because they know the illegal alien has no recourse if he is paid below minimum wages. If the Legal Alien complains, he is summarily dismissed and an illegal alien willing to accept lowered wages is hired. Legal immigrants believe they would be paid better if there were no Illegal Immigrants willing to work for low wages.

Employers are hiring illegal aliens. I live in an area where illegal aliens work in construction, chicken houses, landscaping and greenhouses. And they're paid cash which means the employer doesn't have to account for them, pay any taxes for them, cover them with Worker's Comp, offer Health Care Coverage, retirement benefits, etc.

So my questions are: Why do you want to reward Illegal Aliens and give them benefits that Legal Immigrants often are ineligible for? Why reward what you call "innocent children" just because their parents were too lazy or self-centered to follow the appropriate procedures to gain entry into the USofA?

Charity begins at home. And the USofA is not the home of illegal aliens.

So, now it's your turn to write to your Congresspeople.

Do you know your U.S. History?

There's flap over a Confederate Battle Flag hanging in a garage at a private hunt club in Pennsylvania visited by Vice President Cheney. Come on folks, read your U.S. History before making comments about the War of Northern Aggression.

  • Let us also recall that the Federal Government placed huge tariffs on manufactured goods leaving the South which were not rescinded until 1962. Yes, that's correct, 1962. Had the U.S. Federal Government treated Germany and Japan the way they treated the South, neither of those two Nations would have survived the destruction of WWII. The South is still trying to recover. And we do not favor any expansion of the Federal Government into affairs not specifically given to the Federal Government by the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We still consider secession as an option.

    Tunnels Do End!

Life is grand except when it's not. And when life is not grand, it takes on a reality of its own. I have lived through some "not grand" times and have learned one very important thing in the process: I can live through anything.

How is this important? Why do I want to share this with the world? Because it's as true for you or the next person you talk to as it is for me. The reason this phrase can help through the "not grand" times is because it is a "grand" saying when spoken or thought or read five separate times. No, it's not a magic phrase but it can be miraculous.

    I can live through anything.
    I can live through anything.
    I can live through anything.
    I can live through anything.
    I can live through anything.

Put the emphasis on the highlighted word and say those sentences aloud. Yell them to the walls or the sky. Make them your own.

I often wish I could tell the world about this phrase. When I hear of lives shortened by despair or overdoses or depression, I wish the person could have spoken to me before he or she made such an irrevocable decision.

St John says in his Gospel, Chapter 8 Verse 12: Again therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me, walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life. And again in Chapter 14 Verse 6: Jesus saith to him (us, you and me): I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh to the Father but by Me.

During your "dark night of the soul" when there seems to be no light at the end of your tunnel due to the curves life has thrown at you, do not lose hope. You can live through anything and there is both light and Light at the end of your tunnel.

WARNING - This Should Upset You

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — A pro-pedophilia group has posted photos of 3-year-old Princess Amalia, daughter of the heir to the Dutch throne, on its Web site, a government spokesman said Friday.

The site of Martijn, a group that says it lobbies for acceptance of consensual physical relationships between adults and children, also showed pictures of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander's 5-year-old nephew Lucas.

If you didn't get upset, your moral compass may need recalibrating. How can parents protect their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren when there are organizations like Martijn and NAMBLA openly lobbying for public approval of their salacious activities.

Children need to be protected from lascivious behaviors. An adult who says otherwise does not have that child's best interests in mind but rather his (or her) own lechery.

Why are people disconcerted when a teacher and a student have a sexual relationship? Because it is unconscionable and strikes at the very innocence of childhood and the trust parents and children have for teachers. Why was there such an uproar over the homosexual Priests? Why didn't NAMBLA come to their defense? Why doesn't the ACLU represent those in aouthroity who take sexual advantage of children?

Because we have two sets of standards. One set was written in our hearts by the very God some people callously deny exists. St Paul's Epistle to the Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For whosoever have sinned without the law, shall perish without the law; and whosoever have sinned in the law, shall be judged by the law. 13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature those things that are of the law; these having not the law are a law to themselves: 15 Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness to them, and their thoughts between themselves accusing, or also defending one another . . . The other set follows the vulgar perversion of all that is sacred, making a mockery of purity and virtue.

Which set of standards will you follow? What's most important to you? Where is your heart?

Book of Proverbs Chapter 2:6 Because the Lord giveth wisdom: and out of his mouth cometh prudence and knowledge. 7 He will keep the salvation of the righteous, and protect them that walk in simplicity. 8 Keeping the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand justice, and judgment, and equity, and every good path. 10 If wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge please thy soul:

11 Counsel shall keep thee, and prudence shall preserve thee, 12 That thou mayst be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh perverse things: 13 Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways: 14 Who are glad when they have done evil, and rejoice in most wicked things: 15 Whose ways are perverse, and their steps infamous.

    Southern California Fire Photos

In October 2007 over a dozen wildfires across Southern California, United States forced the evacuation of over 265,000 residents. This evacuation comes almost four years to the day after the Cedar Fire of 2003. At least one person has been reported dead. Fires burned in Malibu, Lake Arrowhead, Irvine, and San Diego. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles, Orange, Poway, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties as a result. At least 100,000 acres of land were burned near San Diego County.

    Is this socialism or not?

Someone please explain to me whether these statements are or are not socialism.

Many of you are well enough off that the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.

We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.

    Tyler Perry's Movie Critiqued

The Movie: Why Did I Get Married?
The Movie Reviewer: Roland S. Martin
It's the story of eight college friends who gather for one week a year, and we get to see the marriage drama that each of one of them go through. One couple is constantly arguing over any little issue; another appears to be strong on the outside but is grieving on the inside over the death of their child in an accident; one couple fights the workaholic nature of the wife and the sexual fits her husband has to endure; while another speaks to a husband who is cheating on his wife with her best friend because his wife has put on a lot of weight, and she has to deal with not being loved.

What resonated so much was that these were ordinary couples who go through the ups and downs that so many marriages face. I don't want to give away everything about the movie, but in the end, one of the marriages can't be saved. But the great thing is that the couples faced some serious issues, and didn't take off at the first sign of trouble. They fought (verbally), argued, disagreed, but in the end, recognized that the marriage vows they professed for one another on their wedding day came true -- to have and to hold, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer.

    Senator:

The information below needs to be notated before you accept the numbers being touted by pro-amnesty lobbyists. Just as the numbers for the SCHIP were much higher than was reported to Congress, so are the numbers of “illegal teenagers” this new DREAM Act is supposed to help. Triple the numbers for the first year and then watch them exponentially increase.

VOTE NO on Senate Bill 2205 – the DREAM Amnesty Act. Then enforce the laws already on passed. Build the Fence. Pardon Ramos and Compean, they are heroes not criminals. Illegal Aliens are the criminals; their first crime is “breaking and entering the UsofA unlawfully” and then they compound it by stealing Social Security Numbers and lying to obtain employment. Then they drive cars without benefit of drivers license, taking a driver’s test or auto insurance. Then they swindle the school systems by registering their illegal alien children, causing classroom sizes to expand and giving teachers less time with US Citizen children. Then they want special consideration for their children, so the school uses resources to teach these illegal alien children in Spanish. It’s never ending theft by taking. And Congress is a willing participant in these crimes.

Yes, Congress, the Senate, you, personally are guilty of championing anarchy by supporting illegal aliens and giving them benefits that you are denying to US Citizens. Your NO vote on Cloture will be remembered at the ballot box. It is time to shelve this issue and for Congress to get back to work. This is not a partisan issue, it’s a United States Citizen (and legal alien) issue. And the majority of us vote and have long memories.

DREAM Act Offers Amnesty to 2.1 Million
New Estimate Shows Another 1.4 Million Family Members Could Also Stay

WASHINGTON (October 23, 2007) — The Senate is currently considering the DREAM Act (S.2205). Some have argued that only 60,000 illegal immigrants would be granted amnesty annually under the Act, but a new analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies of 2007 Census Bureau data shows millions of potential beneficiaries.
    · An estimated 800,000 illegal immigrants under age 17 have been here long enough to qualify for legalization under the DREAM Act. There are a total of 1.7 million illegal aliens estimated to be under age 18.

    • There are an estimated 900,000 parents of illegal aliens under age 18 who qualify. It is unclear whether the government would deport these parents.

    • The DREAM Act is also unclear as to what will happen to the siblings of legalized illegals who are themselves illegal, but do not meet the Act’s requirements. There are an estimated 500,000 such children.

    • The DREAM Act also allows illegal aliens ages 18 to 29 to legalize if they claim to have arrived prior to age 16. We estimate 1.3 million meet this requirement. There are a total of 4.4 million illegal aliens in this age group.

    • Thus the total number of potential amnesty beneficiaries is 2.1 million (assuming no fraud). This does not include 1.4 million siblings and parents of qualifying illegals who may end up receiving a de facto amnesty.

    • Prior legalization programs have been plagued by fraud. One-fourth (700,000) of those legalized in the 1986 amnesty are estimated to have done so fraudulently.

    • Given the difficulty in determining whether an applicant meets the DREAM Act’s amnesty requirements, coupled with the overworked nature of the immigration bureaucracy, fraud could be a significant problem.

Methodology: These estimates are based on a Center for Immigration Studies analysis of the March 2007 Current Population Survey (CPS) collected by the Census Bureau. No estimate is definitive, of course, but the Urban Institute, the Pew Hispanic Center, and the INS have all used the March CPS to estimate the size of the illegal population. We estimated that the survey included more than 11 million illegals in 2007. This is entirely consistent with prior research. The above numbers do NOT include those illegal aliens missed by the Census Bureau’s survey. The Department of Homeland Security and other researchers have estimated that 10 percent of illegals are likely missed in Census Bureau surveys of this kind. Thus, the actual number of potential beneficiaries is almost certainly higher than the numbers discussed above.

We use the demographic characteristics of respondents to distinguish legal and illegal immigrants in the survey. We combine this with the estimated number of legal immigrants in the country. This method is based on some very well-established facts about the characteristics of the legal and illegal population and is consistent with other research that employs the same approach to estimate the illegal population.

The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent research institute which examines the impact of immigration on the United States.

Thank you for a NO Cloture vote today,

Call me if you have questions
    From Senator Saxby Chambliss:
Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 774, the "Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act." It is good to hear from you.

    S. 774 was introduced on March 6, 2007, and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee. This legislation would allow illegal aliens to receive post-secondary educational benefits from the state in which they reside. It would also adjust an illegal alien's status to permanent legal resident status as long as they entered the U.S. before their sixteenth birthday and have been in the country for at least 5 years. Should this legislation come before the Senate, I will not support it.

Well, sir, I was concerned with Senate Bill 2205, but I'll take you at your word!

    Protecting Your Home From Wildfires

In case you haven't noticed, the Fire Departments are no longer up to the jobs of saving thousands of homes. 30 years ago we protected our own homes and our neighbors'. Now we "evacuate" (READ:"Run like frightened sheep")

If the cops find you home you WILL be evacuated. If they don't KNOW you're home, you probably won't be.

(Mad Dog at MySpace) spent 14 year fighting fire and NEVER saw a home protected by the homeowner lost to a fire as long as water was available. That includes neighborhoods we pulled into with shake shingle roofs where an entire block would be burning....except one house......the one with the own with the 3/4 inch garden hose

Dress for the job: boots, cotton jeans, cotton long sleeve shirt, gloves, helmet goggles and bandanna.

Leave yourself an out! Keys in the car and the door unlocked. The center of a paved street or a road cut with high banks give good shelter if you need to evacuate. Even if your house is caught in a burn over, you can go inside until the flames front passes, then go back out. Don't EVER get out into the unburned brush/grass EVER!!! And don't get caught with a wall of flames at your back. Go to the inside of the house or the other side of the house until the flames pass then do your work.

Rancho Bernardo had 250,000 people evacuated and lost hundreds of homes. Think how much firefighting 250,000 people could have done even if just armed with shovels and garden hoses...heck even just throwing that many BEERS at a fire!.

    NEVER, NEVER, NEVER panic!

For the first 200 years most of this nation didn't have paid fire departments. IT was all volunteers and many rural places still are. YOU can make the difference of whether or not you have a home tomorrow.

ONE CAVEAT: IF you don't have your 100 ft. clearances, are tight up against the brush or have shake shingles, good luck!!!! You'd best start clearing brush or packing bags.

If you're prone to panic and doing stupid stuff, like running mindlessly in small circles screaming, same story. Pack and go!

    Copy below:
    Dear Senator:

There is a dictionary in the Library of Congress which clearly delineates the definition of the term “illegal” as “forbidden by law or statute” and “contrary or forbidden by official rules, regulations, laws, etc. The term “illegal” informally means “illegal alien or illegal immigrant.” And no matter how you try to re-write history, an illegal alien is no different from a burglar who has broken into someone’s house, stolen his insurance card, his Social Security card, and his credit cards and has illegal access to the benefits thereof. The banks protect a customer from illegal, illegitimate use of a credit card. We, the People, expect Congress to protect US Citizens and legal aliens from illegal, illegitimate access to our benefits. We were born here or we entered legally. We are being robbed and Congress is helping the robbers.. We are the victims of Congressional malfeasance. Congress defends the criminal act of entering the United States unlawfully.

We, the People, of the United States, do not understand why our grassroots opposition to any style of amnesty for illegal aliens is so hard for you in Congress to comprehend. The majority of US Citizens and the majority of legal aliens do not want amnesty for any illicit, unlawful, illegitimate, criminal aliens who have not followed the lawful process of obtaining a “green card” in order to enter the United States.

We, the People, will respond to Congress’s failure to shelve the amnesty issue indefinitely at the ballot box. Vote NO on cloture for Senate Bill 2205.

Thank you for finally listening to the voice of voters.

    A Story to Meditate on

A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door.

It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.

Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

    "Jack, did you hear me?"

"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.

"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over "his side of the fence"as he put it," Mom told him.

"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.

"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said

"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time.

Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.

"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.

"The box is gone," he said.

    "What box?" Mom asked.

"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was "the thing I value Most" Jack said.

It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.

"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died.Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.

Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.

"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filled his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.

Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved:

"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."

"The thing he valued most was...my time"

Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said.

"Oh, by the way, Janet, thanks for your time!"

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away,"

Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1 At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.

    2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

    3. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

    4. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

5 You mean the world to someone.

    6. If not for you, someone may not be living.

    7. You are special and unique.

    8. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait on His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.

    9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come from it.

    10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.

    11. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

    12. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

    13. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know and you'll both be happy .

    14. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.

    Odds and Ends

Republican Presidential Debate -- so who won?

Police in Phoenix, AZ raided a drop house for illegal immigrants and discovered several, including a pregnant woman, whose handlers had beaten and tortured them, authorities said. This is what happens when the USofA doesn't follow its own laws and BUILD THE FENCE.

Anyone seen this cat lately? Anyone recognize this cat? I'll give you a hint: He's the topic of a book by Hillary Clinton entitled "Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids’ Letters to the First Pets." Mrs. Clinton stated that pets are an “adoption instead of an acquisition” and warned pet owners to look out for their safety. So, why did she dump Socks? Can we really trust a woman who abandons a First Pet as soon as she was no longer First Lady? Who else will she abandon? What else will she abandon?

Next time someone asks about homosexual Priests, ask them about sexual predator teachers being protected by the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association who are more concerned about teacher's rights than they are about children's sexual exploitation by teachers.
One report mandated by Congress estimated that as many as 4.5 million students, out of roughly 50 million in American schools, are subject to sexual misconduct by an employee of a school sometime between kindergarten and 12th grade. That figure includes verbal harassment that's sexual in nature.

That averages to three instances for every school day, every year from kindergarten to 12th grade. I'm not defending homosexual Priests, I'm merely suggesting that there are more teachers involved in sexual predation than there are Priests involved in similar activities. Maybe we need to build two "fences" -- one for our Southern Border and one to surround sexual predators.

Well said and well worth repeating

VATICAN CITY (Catholic Online) – Parents must be firm in guiding their children toward God’s law to enable them to be strong to weather the “storms of adolescence” and be prepared for the responsibilities of adulthood, said Pope Benedict XVI said.

When is vetoing a children's health care program a good thing? When the statement “from conception to age 19" is removed and the statement "pregnancy services” is added. The new S-CHIP bill is set up as a Trojan Horse and sets "dangerous precedent by taking dollars from U.S. taxpayers’ paychecks and using them to pay for abortions."

The old version of the S-CHIP had broad-based bipartisan support and the support of the U.S. bishops. The new version has the support of Planned Parenthood — and raised the ire of the bishops’ pro-life expert, Richard Doerflinger.

The old version of the S-CHIP was a very good thing. The veto of the new version of the S-CHIP is a very good thing — and it shows how crucially important it is that we have a pro-life president.

Partisan Politics In the Public Record

The Democrat Representative from California, Pete Stark, made comments on the House floor Thursday (18 Oct 2007) suggesting Americans are dying in Iraq for President Bush's amusement.

Republicans asked that the 18-term congressman's remarks be "taken down," or challenged as against House rules that prohibit personal attacks on fellow lawmakers or the president.

The parliamentarian found that those remarks were not so inflammatory as to be outside the boundaries of House decorum. Rep. Ellen Tauscher, who was leading the floor debate, allowed them to stand as is in the congressional record.

Rep. Pete Starke: ". . . blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old, enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement," Stark said. "The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up in Iraq. . . ."

"Pete Stark's out-of-control rant is an insult to every American, Democrat or Republican. It is one thing to disagree with the war in Iraq, but it is another to go to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and rave that the men and women of the United States Armed Forces are '[blowing] up innocent people.' The Democrats cannot stop playing partisan politics," said RNC Chairman Mike Duncan.

“This sort of rhetoric is simply beyond the bounds of civil discourse on the floor of the United States House of Representatives. Decency demands that Congressman Stark retract his remarks and apologize,” said Pete Hegseth, Executive Director of Vets for Freedom who condemned the comments.

Contact your Federal Legislators and comment about Rep. Pete Stark's "hissy fit."

    What I emailed:
    Representative Stark:

Your hissy fit in the hallowed Chambers of the United States House of Representatives was childish, gratuitous, and improper.

Your mother would not be proud.

You owe the House of Representatives, your State, the United States of America, and President Bush a public apology.

Why? Because you forgot your manners and your House etiquette. If you ever wish to rise to the position of Statesman, you will apologize for your thoughtless outburst and ask forgiveness of us all.

Sincerely in hopes you will take this message to heart,
    I remain,

What kind of Hiker are you?

You may have wondered what kind of hiker you are or how to describe the hiker you meet on the trail or at the shelter or hostel. Below are descriptions of the types of hikers I have met while hiking.

  • The Casual Hiker - some people refer to these hikers as “weekend hikers” or “section hikers.” These hikers only get to hike on select weekends and try to hike during their week or two vacation from their jobs. This is by far the largest hiker group and they are important members of the hiker community. These are hikers who read a lot about hiking and about equipment and purchase as much gear as their finances allow.

  • The Trophy Hiker - some people see hiking as a competition with themselves or the time clock or the date book or another hiker. These are hikers who try to hike the fastest, the farthest, the most miles or the most trails in any given time period. These hikers will spend countless hours working to reduce their pack weight so that they can hike just a little farther “next time.” Many of these hikers author their own books about hiking and lightweight gear.

  • The Naturalist Hiker - some people set no hiking goals. Their enjoyment is just in “getting out there” and communing with nature. They may hike into the woods a certain distance and set up a hammock or tent, lay back and enjoy the scenery. For them, Nature is more important than miles traveled.

  • The Social Hiker - some people just enjoy the camaraderie of the hiking community. They frequent as many online hiker forums as they can locate. Whether they actually hike anywhere is not as important as owning the gear and sitting around at Hiker Rucks, Gatherings, and Trail Days talking about hiking and trails they’d like to hike. Actually hiking with a group at one of these hiker festivities is an added bonus to these socializing hikers. Ownership of a computer is paramount to this group.

  • The Quality Hiker - some people like to have the best, the newest, the lightest, and completely handmade or homemade gear. Never satisfied with one “soda can stove,” these hikers try to create a lighter stove that uses less fuel and boils water faster than the last stove. Not satisfied with commercially made backpacking gear and clothing these hikers will design lighter weight tents, packs, sleeping bags/quilts, clothing, rain gear, camp shoes, etc. Most of these quality hikers will post their designs on hiker websites so that other like minded hikers can use their designs or improve upon them and make their own gear. Some of these hikers will start cottage industries and sell gear to other hikers. Occasionally, a quality hiker will write a book about how she incorporated her gear into her hiking experience. If a quality hiker is fortunate, she and sells her cottage industry to a gear manufacturing company.

  • The Meal Hiker - some people believe that food eaten in the out of doors is much more palatable than anything eaten inside four walls. These hikers dehydrate their own food and repackage it so that even an “add hot water” meal becomes a culinary treat to their taste buds. On the first night of hiking, they cook fresh foods they carried in their bulging backpacks: steak, corn on the cob; baking potato. These hikers carry the weight of a variety of spices, cook with “real butter,” have more than one stove and usually two or three pots to cook in. Mini-whisks are included in their kitchen utensils, as are fry pans, and the occasional backpack oven and espresso coffee maker. These hikers are not always carrying the lightest packs, but they definitely seem to be the best fed hikers on any trail.

  • The Mentor/Youth Hiker - some hikers want to pass their knowledge on to the next generation by introducing their own and other families to the hiker community. These hikers are Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders, work with 4-H Youth, church youth groups, inner-city youth and anywhere or with any group where children, teens and their parents can benefit from a little time outdoors. These hikers may initiate hiker groups among their peers or for a select demographic group. Occasionally they work at 'alternative outdoor schools.' These hikers are often found among the ranks of the Peace Corp, AmeriCorp, and non-profit or for-profit hiker or outdoor related organizations or magazines.

  • You may be one or more of these types of hiker at different times or at the same time. You're all a part of the hiker community and the world is a better place because of you.

    Declaring the Win in Iraq

    Dear Mr. President:

Before the elections, which means you have a year, it would behoove you, the Republican Party, and the Citizens of the United States, if you would maneuver the War on Terror in Afghanistan and the War in Iraq (be it civil or uncivil) to some kind of a conclusion, declare the wars won, bring home all the Troops at one time, and have a ticker tape parade in NYC followed by one in D.C. (I'll even drive up to the one in D.C.)

What was your exit strategy when you declared war on Saddam Hussein? Did you have an exit strategy or did you expect the Iraqis to lay down their arms and immediately embrace a democratic style of government? You couldn't have been so naive to think that tribal mentality could transpose into Jeffersonian democracy overnight. If you were, it didn't, and now the Media is doing to you what they do best to sitting Republican Presidents in a time of war.

And you've allowed Congress to upset the balance of foreign relations with the "Armenian Genocide" bill? That's revisionism and it's old history. Leave history alone except to study it so that it doesn't repeat itself.

Mr. President, please end these wars before the elections in 2008. Whatever gymnastics are needed to declare a win and bring the troops home to ticker tape parades with honor, do it. If the USofA has to threaten (or even NOT threaten) and then use a bigger bomb and a less smart bomb, then do it. My Dad always said "Get a Bigger Hammer." Mr. President, it's nearly time to use the Bigger Hammer.

The USofA does not need to ask for permission or forgiveness for its actions in a time of war or in a time of peace. I don't care who says we do, we are still a sovereign nation (that is, until our sovereignty is destroyed by the North American Alliance) and we still have the bigger bombs and should not apologize if we need to use them. Let the other Countries threaten if they dare. The USofA still reigns as king of the hill. Even though we do not have a sufficient military to protect the USofA and fight overseas, we do have the wherewithal to claim victory.

    VICTORY for the USofA!

Thank you for considering my email. Yes, the language may seem harsh, but I speak for most of my friends (say nearly a thousand people), when I say, "Bomb 'em and End the War." "Bring the Troops Home In Victory!

Call me if you or your staff wish to discuss this further.

    Sincerely,

    An Education in Islam

The Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry has a website which includes a useful chart which shows the conflicting claims of classic Christian belief and Muslim doctrines. It is worth studying whatever one's faith.

And that's not all that Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry has available. Go take your own 'look see.'

    Whose Fault? Blame Media Agenda

WASHINGTON — The former top commander of coalition forces in Iraq may have called U.S. efforts there catastrophically flawed and unrealistically optimistic, but much of the criticism of the media by Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez has been left unreported.

In his speech to the Military Reporters and Editors Association in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Sanchez accused reporters of "unscrupulous reporting, solely focused on supporting an agenda and preconceived notions of the U.S. military."

Without naming a specific company, Sanchez said "parent media organizations" have political agendas that direct the news coverage of the war and in some cases put U.S. service members in deadly situations.

"What is clear to me is that you are perpetuating the corrosive partisan politics that is destroying our country and killing our service members who are at war. My assessment is that your profession, to some, has strayed from these ethical standards and allowed external agendas to manipulate what the American public sees on TV, reads in newspapers and what they see on the Web,"
    Sanchez said.

Sanchez also took issue with the press over their indictments of his service. Sanchez retired in 2006 after being replaced in Iraq following the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal. He was cleared of wrongdoing but became a symbol in some media accounts of flawed leadership.

Sticks and stones can break my bones, but false Media Reporting with no accountability can ruin my reputation.

New York Times Article on Jihadists Among U.S.

21-year-old American named Samir Khan who produces his blog from his parents’ home in North Carolina, serves as a kind of Western relay station for the multimedia productions of violent Islamic groups.

While there is nothing to suggest that Mr. Khan is operating in concert with militant leaders, or breaking any laws, he is part of a growing constellation of apparently independent media operators who are broadcasting the message of Al Qaeda and other groups, a message that is increasingly devised, translated and aimed for a Western audience.

Al Qaeda and its followers have used the Internet to communicate and rally support for years, but in the past several months the Western tilt of the message and the sophistication of the media have accelerated. So has the output. Since the beginning of the year, Al Qaeda’s media operation, Al Sahab, has issued new videotapes as often as every three days. Even more come from Iraq, where insurgents are pumping them out daily.

The United States is losing the souls of teenage Muslims (if they ever had a positive influence on them). Muslim teens see the anger, greed, avarice, excesses, and emptiness of USAmericans as exhibited by the likes of Hollywood, "pop tarts," and elements of our culture. They are taught that every USCitizen approves of and practices the Pop Culture as displayed in numerous weekly and monthly publications. In order to counter this, the Muslim teens in the USofA are looking to their "religion" and to the definition of Islaam by such as Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. But they're not stopping there, they are actively promoting jihad among US (the United States). By fixating on teenagers' confusion as they try to find their place in society promoters of violent jihad who live in the USofA or who are USofA Citizens are influencing some non-Muslim teens
as well as attempting to downplay the truth about Muhammadanism.

There are a number of links to books and websites listed in the frame to the upper right of this blog. I direct your attention to them to learn more about the insidious excrescence of the "followers of Muhammad."

    A Different Approach, Part Deux

I finally completed the task of sending all 100 Senators the letter referenced by the above Title and 6 October's blog-post.

I'm going on a week's vacation, so I hope my reading public will check out the links or the online books in the right hand frame of this blog.

Thank you and have a good week.

Carter and Kerry, two peas in a pod

John Kerry slandered an entire generation of men who fought in Vietnam. Jimmy Carter is slandering an entire administration as well as the generation of men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    A Convenient UNtruth

Al Gore’s award-winning climate change documentary was littered with nine inconvenient untruths, a judge ruled yesterday.

Justice Burton (probably related to me) identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration.”

You can read the rest of it yourself. Justice Burton did a fine job of studying this film and did state that there were scientifically verified points in it. Just a bit exaggerated.

Kind of like Al Gore himself?

Honor Killings: Coming to a town near you

VIENNA, Austria — Austrian authorities said Thursday they arrested an elderly Turkish-born man suspected of fatally shooting a younger Turkish associate and slicing off the victim's penis in what investigators called an "honor killing."

Honor killings, driven by the view that a family's honor is paramount, are an ancient tradition associated with Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq and Iran as well as tribal areas in Pakistan and some Arab societies.

It was the first known attack of its kind in Austria, which is home to about 200,000 Turks — Europe's third-largest Turkish expatriate population after Germany and France.

But so-called honor killings have occurred elsewhere in Europe:
    — In August, a federal court in Germany ordered a retrial for two brothers acquitted of fatally shooting their sister —an attack that prosecutors said was meant to punish the Turkish-German woman for her Western lifestyle.

    — In Britain in July, the father and uncle of an Iraqi Kurd woman who was murdered for falling in love with the wrong man were sentenced to life in prison for ordering the killing.

    — In 2006, a Danish court sentenced a Pakistani man to life imprisonment for ordering the slaying of his 19-year-old daughter, who was gunned down two days after her wedding because her family allegedly disapproved of her choice of husband.

And soon, you'll hear of Honor Killings in towns and cities throughout the United States of America because of the influx of Middle Easterners who encourage such barbaric practices. (Hey, guys, this is no way to advertise your "religion of peace.")

    Michael Moore, Kiss This!

Canada's socialized health care system, hailed as a model by Michael Moore in his documentary, "Sicko," is hurting, government officials admit, citing not enough money for more equipment and staff to handle high risk births.

"The Canadian healthcare system has used the United States as a safety net for years," said Michael Turner of the Cato Institute. "In fact, overall about one out of every seven Canadian physicians sends someone to the United States every year for treatment."

The Koran tells them to use deception

So is this deception or not?

In an unprecedented open letter signed by 138 leading scholars from every sect of Islam, the Muslims plead with Christian leaders "to come together with us on the common essentials of our two religions" and spell out the similarities between passages of the Bible and the Koran.

The scholars state: "As Muslims, we say to Christians that we are not against them and that Islam is not against them - so long as they do not wage war against Muslims on account of their religion, oppress them and drive them out of their homes."

Since Muslims claim that any war against anyone who happens to be a Muslim is a war against their religion, this is a no-win situation for Christians.

The letter continues: "With the terrible weaponry of the modern world; with Muslims and Christians intertwined everywhere as never before, no side can unilaterally win a conflict between more than half of the world's inhabitants. Thus our common future is at stake. The very survival of the world itself is perhaps at stake."

I perceive that the Muslims realize they cannot win against the "infidel" United States and so they are going to try to wheedle their way into the good graces of other faiths in order to show them how much more "advanced" Muslims are.

As If? An Eighth Century vindictive philosophy parading as a "world religion" in the 21st Century world? And I assumed Muslims didn't have a sense of humor. I was wrong, they are hilarious.

I shall write (again) to all 100 Senators and suggest to them that USofA religious leaders should not enter into ANY "religious" discussions with ANY Muslims or Muslim Theocracy unless and until the Muslims agree to support Freedom of Religion in respect to their religion and Theocracy, giving any Muslim the opportunity to freely convert to any other faith-walk or no faith-walk without fear. Only then can we be hopeful that they are not being completely deceptive.

I'll believe it when the Jihadists lay down their weapons and allow women to cast off their burkhas and headscarves, obtain an education freely, walk alone without fear of retribution, drive their own cars, and not be "married off" as young children.

    As If.

    OUTRAGED yet? Voice your concerns!

The father of a 14-year-old Texas girl who was raped, sodomized and then strangled with a belt and shoe laces, wants to know why President Bush supports halting the execution of the Mexican national who confessed to killing his daughter and her friend.

"Our daughters are just pawns in a game that we have no control over," Randy Ertman, father of Jennifer Ertman, told FOX News. "What can I say to the president of the United States or the Supreme Court that would make any difference?"

Go here to send an email to Congress, the President, and the Governor of Texas to voice your outrage at the political game being played by our elected officials as they try to appease Mexico and deny justice for two innocent girls -- here's a clincher for you:
The final act of brutality came when the girl's bodies were stomped on to make sure they were dead, court testimony shows.

We won before we didn't win.

In my not so humble opinion, President Bush's biggest error in judgment regarding the War Against Terror was to continue fighting after Saddam Hussein was caught. The USofA could have declared the WOT a success and brought our troops home to a ticker tape parade in NYC. But . . . he failed to do so.
So what does the USofA have to do to win so that our troops can return in victory?

    A Different Approach

So this idea hit me this morning -- how about using the same end result with a different approach? Why not ask every Senator to help build the fence to keep out the invasion of illicit drugs into the USofA via the Southern border? So, that's what I'm doing. 100 Senators and 100 Emails.

    Dear Senator:

It shouldn’t matter what side of the aisle you’re on when you’re discussing protecting the United States from invasion. We’ve had all kinds of invasions, from the wooly algid to the pine bark beetle to marijuana, heroin and cocaine. None of those invasions has been good for the United States. Although it’s difficult to stop someone from sneaking an insect into the United States, it’s much easier to stop the criminals who transport marijuana, heroin and cocaine into our Country. The quickest, easiest and most effective way to stop the invasion of illicit drugs including marijuana, heroin and cocaine into the United States of America is to Build The Fence that has already been approved, mandated and financed.

    Build The Fence.
    Free Ramos and Compean.

Immigration “reform” can come after the fence is built. Stop the insanity of drugs entering our beloved Country. Build The Fence. If no one else will do it, then you stand up on the Senate floor and ask the President why he is protecting drug-runners coming in from Mexico bringing in marijuana, heroin and cocaine.

I sincerely hope that no one in elected office or any elected official’s staff is benefiting from this scourge against the United States. Build The Fence. Stop the drugs at the Southern border.

    Sincerely,

    Use the Correct Word, PLEASE!

Would you please use the correct word? It's not "Democratic" when you are talking about the Political Party! It Is DEMOCRAT! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH

    What she said.

Thankfully I do not own a television set. However, I do listen to FoxNews on my computer on occasion. The buzz yesterday was about "The View" (on ABC) with Barbara Walters, hostess. The group talked about Paul Newman and his wife, Joanne Woodward, Nancy Pelosi and her husband, and Faith Hill and her husband, Tim McGraw. Each of the women made "small" (and I mean that both ways) talk about who they would like to "do" (meaning have a sexual encounter) and all concluded they'd like to "do" Tim McGraw. Some, Whoopi Goldberg especially, talked of "doing" both Mr. Pelosi and Nancy Pelosi. On National Television. Daytime TV, the babysitter of the young and school children who stayed home "sick."

What are we teaching our children? Why is anyone even listening to such "trash talk?"

Are we teaching them that casual sexual encounters are okay? Are we teaching them that sexual encounters with the same gender or opposite gender are okay? If that were true, why is Idaho Senator Larry Craig in trouble? We have a double standard here, do we not? So, put Senator Larry Craig on "The View" and let's see if Whoopie Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd, and Barbara Walters tell their audience they want to "do" him.

Why do you listen to the "trash talk" in the first place? Is your life so bland that you need that kind of "entertainment" to spice it up? Is your house spotless? Turn off the television and clean house with the radio blasting some classical music. Have you washed and folded all the clothes? Could your closet use a good cleaning? When was the last time you wrote a letter to a family member? There are thousands of things you could do that would be better than wasting your time with "The View."

And of course, "The View" isn't the only television tripe that fills your head with trash, so I'm not just talking about one television show.

Take stock of your life. Find your passion. Follow your passion and actively pursue it. And I'll bet you a Root Beer that your passion has nothing to do with watching "The View."

    Today, I'm 63 years old

I never considered the possibility that I might live to be this 'old' when I was twenty or thirty or even fifty. And here I am. Who would have thought it possible.

Yes, I'm 63. I'm hunting for my "50 year old body" hiding under my 63 year old skin.

I better hurry up, as I plan to Thru Hike the Appalachian Trail next year.

Have a piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream for me.

This has been a day of reflection. Tomorrow, back to the politics.

Now, off to watch a Martial Arts video (I collect them).
