Obama Bombs American History 101

SORRY, BARACK, BUT THERE WERE NO MUSLIMS ON THE MAYFLOWER

Speaking at the University of Cairo, President Barack Hussein Obama said that Americans are indebted to Islam for the great contributions Muslims have made to the history and development of the United States.

“I know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story,” Mr. Obama told the throng of unenlightened Muslims. “The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. . . And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States.”

Mr. Obama went on to say: “They [Muslims] have fought in our wars. They have served in our government. They have stood for civil rights. They have started businesses. They have taught at our universities. They’ve excelled in our sports arenas. They’ve won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building and lit the Olympic torch. And when the first Muslim American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same holy Koran that one of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, kept in his personal library.”

No one at the Egyptian University or the international media took issue with the President’s bizarre interpretation of American history, let alone his confusion of the Nation of Islam (the religion of Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X) that bears scant similarity to orthodox Islam. The Nation of Islam teach that Allah in the flesh was a bona fide nutcase named Wallace Fard and that Eli Muhammad, a conman with a tested IQ of 70 and not the Prophet Muhammad, was the true last prophet of Allah.

Let’s set the record straight once and for all.

Sorry, Barack Hussein, but there were no Muslims among the passengers on the Mayflower or the settlers at Jamestown. Muslims were conspicuously absent from the ranks of George Washington’s Army of the Revolution and played no role in the creation of the American republic - - save for the fact that the new country’s first declaration of war was against the forces of Islam in the form of the Barbary pirates.¹

Despite popular folklore, few Muslims numbered among the 12 million black Africans who were shipped to the New World from the 17^th to 19^th centuries. The Muslims, in fact, were not the slaves but the slave traders. Senegalese educator Amadou-Mahtar M’Bow has written that in 1587 a shipload of Moriscos (Spanish Moors) landed in a coastal area of South Carolina. The Moors, he contends, migrated to the mountains of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina where they established colonies.² In reality, this is pure speculation. There is not a scintilla of archival or archaeological evidence to support this claim.

This is not to say that no Muslim slaves were transported to the colonies. Two such slaves - - Ayuiba Suleiman Diallo and Omar ibn Said - - were brought to America is 1731 but both were returned to Africa in 1734.³ In a Herculean effort to materialize at least one Muslim living in America before the Civil War, Muslims in America, an Islamic website, point to the name of Mahomet, the great grandson of Uncas, the founder of the Mohegan tribe, on a gravestone in Norwich, Connecticut.⁴ The name of this Native America, they argue, resembles that of the prophet, and, therefore, he must have been a convert to Islam.

In a similar example of straining at gnats, the compilers of The Collections and Stories of American Muslims, a non-profit organization, claim that Peter Salem, a former slave who fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill, must have been a Muslim since “Salem” bears an etymological resemblance to “Salaam,” the Arabic word for peace.⁵

For additional proof, the compilers turn to folklore, such as the story of Old Tom, a slave at a plantation in Georgia, who allegedly uttered, “Allah is God and Mohammed his Prophet” on his death-bed - - and the apocryphal tale of “Old Lizzy,” a slave from Edgefield County, who reportedly said, “Christ built His first church in Mecca.”⁶

Surprisingly, there is no record of any Islamic American among the enlisted and conscripted forces of World War I, let alone among the blue and grey armies of the Civil War. The great migrations that lasted from 1865 to 1925 brought 35,000,000 people to the New World: 4,500,000 from Ireland, 4,000,000 from Great Britain, 6,000,000 from central Europe, 2,000,000 from the Scandinavian countries, 5,000,000 from Italy, 8,000,000 from Eastern Europe, and 3,000,000 from the Balkans. But the number of Muslims who came here from the Middle East was statistically nil.⁷

In 1960, aside from the temples of the Nation of Islam, the only mosques in the United States were in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dearborn, Michigan, and Washington DC (which opened in 1957) - - and all three professed less than 200 active members. Four other cities contained miniature mosques with less than fifty members.⁸

Oh, yes, Jefferson did possess a copy of the Koran which Keith Allison, our first Muslim Congressman, used to make his oath of office. But what was Jefferson opinion of Islam? Did he believe the Muslim religion represented a salubrious influence in world affairs? Far from it. In 1786 Thomas Jefferson, then US ambassador to France, and John Adams, then US Ambassador to Britain, met in London with Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the Dey’s ambassador to Britain, in an attempt to negotiate a peace treaty with the Barbary Pirates based on Congress’ vote of funding. To the US Congress these two future Presidents later reported the reasons for the Muslims’ hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

“…that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Jefferson had it right.

Obama has it wrong.

Welcome to my new layout. Got tired of the old. Hope you like it. There is so much malarkey going around about Barack(a) Hussein Obama not being Muslim and not being Arab that I am nearly to the point of just telling people to go ahead and vote for him to be POTUS, because then it will be too late to denigrate me for trying to inform you of the truth. What is wrong with people? They are mesmerized by his voice. He's the Pied Piper of Democrat Candidates. He has that fluid melodious voice which easily pulls on the auditory senses and causes a person to lapse into an hypnotic state, nodding yes all the while they are being lead to the demise of the American dream.

Obama doesn't think there were any Al Qaeda in Iraq until AFTER the USofA started the war on terror. Do you REALLY agree with that? Do you think that if the USofA just pulled our troops out of the Middle East that all would be well and peace would reign on the earth? Well, Barack Obama does.

What is in your kool-ade? Are you wearing your aluminum foil cap today?

Have you even dared to look at any of the Barack Obama links? And why not? Afraid of the truth?

The truth is that the Presidential Candidates running for the office of POTUS are definitely lacking. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are prodigies of Saul Alinski, Marxism, Socialism and Communism. Hillary Clinton is more open about it telling the public that when she's POTUS, she'll take money from the rich (whoever they are and you can bet she won't consider herself in that category) and "redistribute it to the poor." Stop and THINK. That's communism. You work hard all week to bring home $500 net income and Hillary Clinton is going to take an extra $75 out of that, add it to other hard working individuals' "mandatory contributions" and then dole it out to people who don't want to work hard all week so that they too can live the American dream . . . on your dollar. That's what both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have in mind for you. Think I'm lying . . . check it out. They want a bigger Federal Government which means more and higher taxes and you, my friend, will be paying those taxes because you are employed. And where will your hard earned money go? Into some indolent person's pocket long enough for him to buy cigarettes, beer, and a girly magazine.

I worked as a Social Worker and a Caseworker for a total of 26 plus years, and I know what I'm talking about. But go ahead and doubt me if it makes you feel any better.

John McCain has been a "maverick" Republican Senator. He's worked with Teddy Kennedy and other very liberal Democrats to pass legislation. Oh, yes, The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, aka the McCain-Feingold Act. Read up on it. Google it. And guess what? This bit of legislation has come back to bite Senator McCain in the tush. Why? Recall that he ran out of money earlier in the campaign. Well, this Act ended up being a negative force in his efforts to raise additional funds to run for POTUS. Really Smart Move, Senator McCain. Maybe next time you should think these things through and not be such a "maverick" and rush to close the solicitation-for-funds-gap and cause yourself to be a victim of your own legislation. And you know it didn't hurt Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama one twit, er bit.

Mike Huckabee is a joke. That's harsh, he's more like a clown. Why is he staying in the race? My best guess is that he wants the name recognition so that he can run for Senate (or maybe Governor again) from Arkansas. These guys start pulling in the money and the perks from Government employment and they just can't get back into the Private Sector. Think of all the benefits they'd lose if they actually had to get their hands dirty and work a real job. Oh, yes, he's a Baptist minister, how can I disparage a man of God? Let me ask you . . . what man of God do you know who will pardon felons of their crimes and set them back into the community? Pardoning criminals was Governor Huckabee's hobby. Ten times more pardons and commutations than Bill Clinton. A total of 669. I guess when he got to 666, he thought he'd better add a few more so people wouldn't make an obvious assumption. Just because a man says he's a Baptist minister and can modulate his voice from a pulpit does not mean that he is a committed Christian or that he even knows God. (Baptists would say "is saved.") Am I judging him? Nope, just inspecting his fruit.

All of those candidates have skeletons in their closets. However, there is one more 'hero' who hasn't been mentioned openly who could easily be placed in contention for Democrat nominee for POTUS. "Look, up in the air! It's a plane. It's a bird. It's the savior of the Earth!" Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the man in the cape is none other than the inventor of the Internet and a few other gadgets, our very own Albert Gore! Petitions have been filled in with names and signatures of voters at every place he's spoken and shown his award winning movie, "An Inconvenient Truth." The awards the movie received truly illustrate how low our expectations have sunk. There are factual errors that are refuted by some of the scientists whose quotes he uses in the movie. The movie is rife with scientific errors and omissions.

But none of that matters to a Democrat. A Democrat will believe in a fabricated history written by someone with a Kenyan father who therefore 'must' be an African-American. Oh, news flash, according to the school documents in Jakarta, Indonesia, Barry Soetoro (Obama) is listed as being a citizen of Indonesia. So is he really eligible to be POTUS? Someone needs to do some research. A Democrat will accuse someone of being a 'racist' if that person presents facts to dispute the Democrat's allegations. When in fact, in fact, it is the Democrat who is the racist because he is not honest about his own biases and hasty assent to something he will fail or refuse to examine under the light of evidence and documentation.

It does matter to me. Michelle Obama may state she is only proud of America because her husband is running for POTUS and people are supporting him in his bid for the Office. Well, that's just not good enough for me. I've always been proud to be a US Citizen with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges it brings. And one of those responsibilities is to stand up and question a person's honesty when the truth does not parallel his written statements.

And I've done so in the local newspaper, here, online in various forums, and verbally to anyone who'll stop and listen. The FACTS are here, online, documented, verified.

But if you decide to close your eyes and cover your ears, don't say I didn't warn you.

A Convenient UNtruth

Al Gore’s award-winning climate change documentary was littered with nine inconvenient untruths, a judge ruled yesterday.

Justice Burton (probably related to me) identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration.”

You can read the rest of it yourself. Justice Burton did a fine job of studying this film and did state that there were scientifically verified points in it. Just a bit exaggerated.

Kind of like Al Gore himself?
