Hard to believe it's creeping up on me.
I'm excited and scared and happy and stressed and so thankful that I'm old enough to retire and actually collect money for it. I have many plans for my time -- I don't expect to actually move until November or maybe late October. I have plans to hike for a week in October -- probably the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail -- with a friend who'll be Thru Hiking in 2007, also.
Once I get to Alabama, I'll be volunteering at the Animal Shelter and at the Library (to read to children). I'll join the local kayak and walking clubs. And I'll do some babysitting to supplement my income.
And I'll be preparing for my Thru Hikes.
That's an "s" -- I have great plans, good Lord willing and Jesus say so.
I'm developing a 'retirement grin.' Grin wrinkles are the best kind!

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old child's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound child wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke -- lots of it.
9.) A six-year old child can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old man says they can only do it in the movies.

Re: Your behavior
If my Mother were still alive, she would scold me for not using a salutation like Mr. President or The Honorable, but after your performance at the Coretta Scott King Memorial Service, where you showed no respect for a sitting President, I don't think you deserve any yourself. I doubt that Miss Lillian would be too pleased with you either.
If you have read any of Faulkner's novels, you will know that he created a fictional, but true to life family he named the Snopes. They were the epitome of what all of us raised in the South recognize in an instant as "white trash," and I'm sure you are familiar with the term. Your tasteless, inappropriate and classless, except for ultra low class, political remarks at the service for Mrs. King indicate that you might have a pedigree from this group.
During your administration, most of us felt sorry for you because you seemed to have a buffoon for a brother, poor Billy. In recent years, I have begun to think that Billy was the rational and stable one of the two of you.
I don't believe for a second that you would have made such remarks in a Jewish synagogue or mainstream Protestant white church, or Muslim mosque, if a similar service were being held there for a similarly good person. The fact that you made them at a black church indicates to me that at best, you have a condescending attitude toward blacks and at worst, even bigger problems.
George W. Bush possesses an attitude and demeanor that nearly always demonstrates a "turn the other cheek" style. You, who fancy yourself a moral and Christian compass seem to display a "cast the first stone" attitude. You also are the most vain do-gooder I know. I sincerely doubt that you would have pounded those nails for Habitat for Humanity if there had not been TV cameras present and microphones for you to extol your good works to the public.
You ran a campaign as focused and deliberate as any of your election campaigns to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, and you succeeded. Now you share it with Yasser Arafat, an admitted terrorist and killer who denied his people a chance for a separate state and peace when it was offered to him and chose war for them instead. Some prize you got there.
Go take an anger management course and quit acting a fool in front of the public. Bush has made mistakes, but you had the most failed presidency in the 20th century and your opinions don't persuade many people.

Okay, readers, Do Not Harrass Mr Davis. However, if you agree with him, feel free to contact him and tell him so. If you disagree, you are one of those who might well re-read the letter and consider it written to you as well as to Jimmy Carter.

I was ten years old when my home exploded around me burying me under the rebel drinking my blood to survive as the perpetrators shouted Allah Akbar. My only crime was that I was a Christian living in a Christian town. I learned at 10 years old the meaning of the word "infidel." I had a crash course in survival not in girl scouts, but in a bomb shelter where I lived for seven years in pitch darkness, freezing cold, drinking stale water and eating grass to live. At the age of thirteen I dressed in my burial clothes going to bed at night waiting to be slaughtered and by the age of 20 I had buried most of my friends who were killed by Muslims. We were not Americans living in New York, or Britons in London, we were Arab Christians living in Lebanon.
As a victim of Islamic terror, I was amazed when I saw Americans waking up on September 12th 2001 asking themselves "Why do they hate us?" The psychoanalyst experts were coming up with all sort of excuses as to what did we do to offend the Muslim World? If America and the west were paying attention to the Middle East they would not have had to even ask the question. Simply put, they hate me and you because we are defined in their eyes by one simple word, "infidels."
Tolerating evil is a crime. Appeasing murderers doesn't buy protection, it earns disrespect and loathing in the enemy's eyes. Apathy is the weapon by which the west is committing suicide. Political correctness is the shackles around our ankles by which Islamists are leading us to our demise.
America and the West are doomed to failure in this war unless they stand up and identify the real enemy. Islam.
We are fighting a powerful ideology that is capable of altering human basic instincts.
America cannot effectively defend itself in this war unless and until the American people understand the nature of the enemy that we face. Even after 9/11 there are those who say that we must "engage" our terrorist enemies, that we must "address their grievances". Their grievance is our freedom of religion. Their grievance is our freedom of speech. Their grievance is our democratic process where the rule of law comes from the voices of many not that of just one prophet. It is the respect we instill in our children towards all religions. It is the equality we grant each other as human beings sharing a planet and striving to make the world a better place for all humanity. Their grievance is the kindness and respect a man shows a woman, the justice we practice as equals under the law, and the mercy we grant our enemy. Their grievance cannot be answered by an apology for who or what we are.
For the sake of our children and our country, we must wake up and take action.

Here's a small portion of the article:
Islam’s Religious Intolerance
By Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld
FrontPageMagazine.com | December 19, 2005
[The following statement by Dr. Ehrenfeld was read by Alyssa Lappen at the meeting on "Protection of Religious Sites and Prevention of the Use of Religion to Incite Terrorism/Violence" which took place at the U.N. Headquarters in New York on December 13th, 2005. Dr. Ehrenfeld was ill with pneumonia].
No churches or synagogues have been destroyed in Saudi Arabia since it was established in 1932 —because none are allowed. Those who want to establish churches "are, unfortunately, fanatics," according to the Saudi First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, in an interview with the Associated Press on March 13, 2003. He concluded: "There are no churches - not in the past, the present or future....”
There is no declared Muslim state, which offers full civil rights to members of other religions. Many Christians work in Saudi Arabia, but they are not allowed to practice their religion in public because there is no religious freedom in Saudi Arabia. The State Department's report on Religious Freedom points out that the Saudis do “not always respect this right in practice and do not define this right in law.”
Last April, 40 Pakistani Christians including men, women and children were arrested for holding prayers in a private home in Riyadh. Needless to say, their prayer-books were confiscated.
And a quote farther along in the article:
In November 2005, Qatar allowed to construct the first church in 14 Centuries. However, no “freestanding cross” to identify the building as a church is allowed. Yet, this is seen as a big step towards reform.
However, radical Islamists adhere to medieval traditions and laws mandating the Jihad. According to the Dictionary of Islam: conquered by jihad, subjugated people are given three choices:
2) pay a head tax, or
The article is one I urge you to read and to take to heart. There can be no compromise with Islam. They have no chivalry. They have no goal except complete destruction and death until they are the "last man standing."
It is my belief that the Anti-Christ is Islam. Because everything about Islam is totally, completely Against Christ.
Commit to memory as much Scripture as you can. You never know at what point you will need it. If given the choices above, which would you choose?
As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord - the God of Abraham and Isaac and Joseph and Jesus the Christ, the Savior, the Son of God.
Some Scriptures for you to memorize:
Romans 3:10 As it is written; there is none righteous; no, not one.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Revelation 3:20 Behold I stand at the door and knock: If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will sup with him, and he with Me.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by Me.”
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Now, if you've read this far, I want you read an article by the son of a wealthy Pakistani Muslim family written after he converted to Christianity. His amazing, grace-filled story is found here.

As an informed American, you probably believe that Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine delivered the Democrat response to George Bush's State of the Union speech. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kaine's televised reply was smoke and mirrors designed to delude the public into believing that the Democratic Party is a reasonable organization committed to mainstream American values. The real Democrat response came before and during the president's constitutionally mandated address to Congress and the nation, and that response reflects a hate of the union more than a state of the union.
Before the speech, a group of congressional misfits calling themselves "The Progressive Caucus" staged their own "Alternative State of the Union." Its stated agenda reflects the same tired socialist policies that have characterized leftist ideology for decades, and its participants are the looniest elected officials the left apparently has to offer. From Maxine Waters to Dennis Kucinich to Lynn Woolsey to Jim McDermott, this group of House members reflects the far left fringe of American politics. Still, nearly one third of Dems in the House of Representatives -- 62 of them -- are now members of this group.
Among the Progressive Caucus' stated priorities: a speedy withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq; universal health care coverage; public financing of political campaigns; earned amnesty for illegal immigrants; debt relief for countries struggling with poverty or disease; a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
In other words, socialize medicine, hug a tree and trust our sworn enemies to do the right thing.
Anyone who thinks this crowd doesn't represent the Michael Moore crazy wing of the party is gazing at the political landscape from the Hugo Chavez/Fidel Castro end of the spectrum. Even the left-leaning mainstream media ignored their little gathering. The only outlets that deemed the event worthy of coverage were Air America (the Al Franken/Janeane Garofalo radio network with six stations and almost as many listeners) and a few Pacifica public radio stations.
Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor and publisher of "The Nation," made a frightening but true statement.
"If Democrats retake the House, ten members of the Progressive Caucus would be become chairmen of committees," vanden Heuvel told the assembled faithful.
When Cindy Sheehan showed up to add her enlightened view of foreign policy to the milieu, Lynn Woolsey gave her a ticket to the president's speech, which led to poor deluded Cindy being arrested for protesting the war from the gallery by displaying a T-shirt with the current American troop body count.
Democrat reaction in the hall during the speech was nearly as bad. As the president outlined his concerns for the future of the nation, some of their response was just plain boorish.
When the president spoke proudly of his two Supreme Court appointees, Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito, Democrats exhibited rude silence.
The president asked Congress to reauthorize the authority he needs as commander in chief to fight the war on terror. The Dems sat on their hands.
Mr. Bush graciously spoke of his father's affection for former President Bill Clinton. Hillary sat stone-faced.
But when the president pointed out that Congress had failed to act to save the nation from the crushing burden baby boomers were about to put on the Social Security system, the Democrats cheered. They didn't just applaud. They stood and cheered.
What is the average American to make of these responses to the serious problems we face? What would Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy say about them? I believe they would conclude that the modern Democratic Party has been hijacked by leftist lunatics who literally hate their own country.

Depictions of Mohammed Throughout History.
A few articles from New Zealand, all copyrighted or I'd post them, concerning the cartoons of the Terrorist Pedophile who is revered by a cult of terror.
What the cartoons were about.
Cartoons 'test of Islamic tolerance.'
The precious right of freedom of speech.
Excellent information at first they came for . . .. Scroll down, download, and watch the 2 minute video. Well worth it.
