Book I've read: Book I'm reading

The first book I picked up at the drug store was entitled: Losing Weight-Permanently by Gregory L. Jantz, Ph.D. This book is not a recipe book. This book is not a diet plan. This book barely talks about food. But it does talk about why a person uses food for comfort. And it discusses how to confront those issues which cause one to use food for comfort. Great book, highly recommend.

The second book I picked up at the drug store was entitled: livingorganized proven steps for a clutter-free and beautiful home by sandra felton the organizer lady. Again, this book is as much about learning who a person is as it is with dealing about how to organize one's life. But this book is not for the "Cleanies" of the world, it's for us "Messies." And it really pegged me a number of times. The book explains why we Messies are as we are. It's given me new insight and hope for a cleaner and clutter freer life. I'm at Chapter 10 - the first Chapter that discusses how to clean. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is or who knows a Messie.

My 83 year old Dad is a Cleanie, but I think my 82 year old Mom is really a closet Messie (although her closets are neat and clean). I think that had she not married my Dad, she'd be a Messie. She loves him dearly and has trained herself to be a Cleanie, too. And I'm glad for that, really. My parents are people whom I respect not just because they're my parents, but because they're really smart, talented, dedicated people. That and they keep a clean house. Their door is always open to visitors (unlike my door which has a huge sign saying "CHAOS" Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome).

I've got a schedule to keep so that my living area is clean and organized, so I have to get busy before I go to work this morning.

If you think you are a Messie or if you know one or live with one, I highly recommend Sandra Felton's book.

And anyone who says that the Media doesn't influence people is full of cr@p. And you can tell that person that I said so.

Reality Check, please!

Is it just ME or are there others who realize that the leadership in the USA needs a huge reality check?

What it the world is going on in leaderships' minds? Could someone elucidate?

It's a WTF situation here as I scratch my head and wonder what play-book is being used.

The President threatens to veto for the first time in his presidency over something that the cooler heads at Dubai resolved with no bloodshed. In fact, it was something Dubai should have considered in the first place.

Then, we hear on the TV that the USA should tolerate Muslims. No, dear, no no no. It's ARABS who we will tolerate. Islam and Muslims we already know ALL about and we do not "need" to tolerate a "religion of peace" which has as one of its core beliefs that it has the mandate to "convert or kill" the remaining population of earth. It's ALL there in black and white in the Koran and TV commentators have suddenly become blind? What's the payoff?

Am I cynical? In a way, but hopeful as well. I know that this Country was created to be a religious haven for those who fled religious and other persecution in Europe. Georgia was populated by many from the debtors prisons in England. Their crime was that they couldn't afford to pay their taxes. THAT is a pretty demeaning reason to put someone in jail. But we still do it today -- or the (illegal) IRS does. (Illegal? Oh yes, that amendment to the Constitution was never approved. And 'now' the IRS is such a tradition it will literally take an "Act of Congress" to dissolve.) New England was populated by Puritans who weren't allowed to worship as they wished. Pennsylvania was a haven for Quakers (as my forebears were) and Maryland for Catholics. But what was interesting back then, is that for the most part (notwithstanding some communities in New England), those States did not persecute those with other religious beliefs.

And somewhere in our history, we've forgotten that. We WERE a Christian Country. Right now we are in a battle for the hearts and souls of the world, fighting a Religious War which we are trying to convince ourselves and others is not a Religious War. But it IS. We are not against Arabs but we ARE against ISLAM.

Understand at least that much. Islam says if you're a Muslim, you can lie. Christianity says we are not to bear false witness (aka do not lie).

Think about THAT in relation to what is happening right now. Whether you're pro or anti -- Think about whether you can ever completely trust a Muslim. Even a Muslim who "swears" to tell the truth in a legal Court of Law is not just allowed, but is encouraged to lie.

In the USA, when we raise our right hand an affirm or swear to tell the truth, we usually do under pain of perjury. In Islam (in whatever Country), raising a right hand and affirming or swearing to tell the truth doesn't mean anything. Perjury is not a word in their dictionary.

Our Leaders might do well to listen up and take heed lest they be led to the slaughter by those whose favor they are currying. It's definitely time for a Reality Check in Washington, D.C.

March 3, 2006

March 3rd was the six month anniversary of Crockett's death. I spent a little time at his gravesite. I wasn't as torn up this weekend as I had been last weekend. I still miss him terribly. I remember running my hands through his fur and how that felt. I remember him dancing on his hind legs when he caught a scent in the air. I remember his bounding across the backyard like a high-stepping stallion. I remember his smile. I remember the way he had to move his upper 'lip' when he chewed food so he wouldn't bite down on his lip. I remember how he'd eat raw sweet potato and raw carrots and raw red cabbage. I remember how he would press his body up to mine as we went to sleep.

Maybe I'm beginning to accept his death and the many changes it has brought to my life. I will always love him and always miss him.

Barack Obama Says He Lacks Experience To Be U.S. President

And HERE he proves it.

Obama calls it "My Muslim Faith" and This Raises More Questions

George Stephanopoulos tries to correct Obama when he says "my Muslim faith" but it wasn't a gaffe and Obama corrects Stephanopoulos. The Question is: Why say "MY Muslim faith" first? He went back to correct Stephanopoulos, but again "MY Muslim faith" was used. WHY?
