I learned that there's a lot of 'stuff' even if you're carrying only 20-25 pounds including food and 48 ounces of water that you don't need.
I haven't weighed it all yet, but here's 'my' list.

Spray On bandaid (1.5 oz) -- realized how much this would take care of a lot of little nicks and scrapes while on my shakedown hike
1/2 piece of moleskin (may need it for a pesky toe)
1 ounce of cotton squares/balls & 2 oz 91% alcohol (3 oz)
2 needles (one for putting down back in bag & sewing, one for blisters)
12 ft black polyester thread around a thick piece of paper for sewing
1 small bottle eye drops (under an ounce)

Hygiene:
Lite toothbrush and small toothpaste tube (HATE the salt&bakingsoda mix, even with cinnamon added)
1/4 oz dr bronner's and small square Mr Clean wipe in a snack ziplock for when I use the poop-stake (1 oz)

MSR Red Snow Stake to use as trowel (1 oz)
