Women in the news

A very sad occurance early this afternoon was the untimely death of Anna Nicole Smith. No matter what you thought of her, she was a new mother of a five month old whose 20-year old first born son died three days after her daughter was born. Her life was turmoil and popularity. She was beautiful, talented, and considered herself akin to Marilyn Monroe. It appears that like Marilyn Monroe, Anna Nicole Smith died before her time.

Then there's the story of the Astronaut, Lisa Nowak, charged with attempted murder. NASA is going to revamp its psychological screening process as a result of Mrs. Nowak's actions.

And finally, there's Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan. If you're not familiar with them, then you have not visiting the John Edwards for President in 2008 website. The two women take an anti-Catholic position in their blogs (as well as anti-men and anti-South) and carry that attitude over to Mr Edward's website. William Donohue of the Catholic League wrote Mr Edwards about their anti-Catholic harangue. Other bloggers blogged. And there were no apologies. The women are still working for Mr Edwards.

The question for the reader: does this or how does this affect you personally?
