Of lies and distortions

The War on Terror in Iraq is not immune to distorted reporting. There's an article at Mickey Kaus' blog in reference to Andrew Sullivan's obviously distorted version of what is occurring in Iraq as US Soldiers act as advisors while Iraqi National Forces apprehend insurgents. The insurgents were in a vehicle carrying a bag full of mortars.

Sullivan was not in the Iraqi vehicle to know what the insurgents were saying to their captors which precipitated the Iraqis stopping to pummel an insurgent. Nor can he truthfully comprehend what it is like to fear for your life because you belong to one sect of a religion/cult which is considered by another sect of the same religion/cult as merely "targets" and not "true" followers of that religion/cult.

But what disturbs me is that so many people will accept what Andrew Sullivan says as truthful. It's a distortion. Andrew Sullivan lies in order to promote an agenda contrary to the facts in this situation. That is the bottom line.
