Tomorrow and Today

I am on a mountain top, head above the clouds,
Eyes squinting into tomorrow, holding the staff of today.
Sun rises, heats mid-day, sun sets.

I am on a mountain top, head above the clouds,
Listening for tomorrow, hearing sounds of today.
Sun rises, heats mid-day, sun sets.

I am on a mountain top, head above the clouds,
Singing tomorrow's song with a melody of today.
Sun rises, heats mid-day, sun sets.

I am on a mountain top, head above the clouds,
Writing tomorrow's poem with words from today.
Sun rises, heats mid-day, sun sets.

I step off the mountain top, I walk among the clouds,
Today is tomorrow and tomorrow has become today.
