A door closes and a door opens

Amazing how things turn out. I have a cousin nearby who I haven't had much contact wtih recently in part due to my other friend taking the majority of my non-working (non-vacationing) time. I called my cousin and we went driving towards the Nantahala Outdoor Center after a stop at my dogs' Veterinarian. She'd never been to the NOC. I had both dogs with me and Casey wanted to swim (which she did) while Crockett just looked handsome in his short 'buff' colored coat of hair.

My Cuz and I got to talking and we'll be seeing more of each other through the summer and hopefully into the future. We're close in age and only a few years ago found out that we're related. We have a lot of DNA and genetic memory in common. We're not like twins or like opposites, we're like "cousins" which we are. On some topics we're as opposite as we can be, but it's not the strained kind of opposite that a person sometimes is with a non-relative. It's an "okay" type of opposite. We're very comfortable with each other.

I wasn't looking for an answer to my prayers, but I believe the good Lord reminded me to return my cousins phone call today -- and a family relationship was rekindled.

Some information about how we're related is found here.

And some more great genealogy information is here.

I still miss my friend. And I have time for two friends or a friend and a cousin. If I ever hear from my (former?) friend again.
