I was just looking at the sun -- not the one outside, which since it's nearly midnight Eastern Time and I'm indoors would be impossible -- the one on the website right above this paragraph. I am totally intrigued by the sun. It's awesome. I can pour over photos of the sun or just about any geological 'map' with the curiosity of a first grade child. Totally fascinated.
I love reading regular road maps, too. I'll study them, follow roads, see where they go and what other roads they intersect. One road I'd like to travel sometime is US Route 1. I'd start at Key West, Florida, and drive all the way to Kent, Maine. I'd stop in towns and eat at 'greasy spoons' and buy the local newspaper and take photos all along the way. I'd talk to the locals and ask about what makes their town special to them. Then I'd compile it all into a $39.95 coffee table book that I'd sell it through television advertisements. You know the kind. If you buy this book within the next fifteen minutes, we'll send you a disposable camera for free and we'll include free mail-away film processing. No, I'm kidding you. No television advertisement to sell my book. Not my style.
I've given this 'idea' away many times. Some people have even said they thought it was doable and they'd be interested. But so far, I've not seen the book for sale at any of the 'mall' bookstores. So, maybe I'll just plan to take that ride and take a few photos for my own enjoyment. After I Thru Hike the Appalachian Trail a couple times, of course.
Life is good. And it gets better with time.
