I'm really planning my retirement!

Not really too much modification. I plan to work until the 31st day of May in 2008. However, I'll probably take vacation days during the last half of the month. Don't want to miss Trail Days in Damascus, Va.

Hiking with me will be the eighteen year old grandson of a friend. He will have graduated from his private school program on 25 May 2008 and we will mark our new freedom (from work and school) with a Thru Hike.

On either the first of June or the first of July 2008, we plan to begin a Thru Hike of the Appalachian Trail, beginning at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, hiking North to Katahdin in Maine. Then we will return to Harpers Ferry and hike South to Springer Mountain in Georgia. We should be able to complete the hike in 5 to 6 months.
